JAMMU, Oct 01:
In an effort to promote interest among students on social issues, Army organised a Debate Competition on the topic “Relevance of Gandhian Philosophy in Modern Era” at Govt Degree College, Thanamandi in Rajouri District.
Speakers put forth their views on the subject to a patient audience to include students, parents, teachers and opinion makers of Thanamandi and adjoining villages.
The aim of the event was to enable the students to understand the subject by analysing and putting across their view point. The competition was able to generate a healthy discussion.
Numerous fresh ideas were generated.
Prizes were distributed to winners and runners-up students.
The parents and teachers appreciated the efforts made by the Army and said that conduct of such events for young students immensely helped in all round development of students into responsible citizen.
