In its endeavour to increase the outreach and spread awareness amongst the Ex Servicemen / Veer Naris / Widows to enable them to take maximum advantage of various Government schemes, Army organised an Ex-Servicemen Rally at Helipad Ground, Kishtwar.
The daylong event started with an inaugural address followed by an open house session where the ESM, Veer Naris, Widows and their dependents gave out their suggestions. Officer representatives of the Indian Army interacted with the ESM, Veer Naris, Widows and apprised them of the various schemes and facilities available from Central and State Governments. Representative of Zila Sainik Welfare Office delivered a lecture on the issues pertaining to pension disbursement on various benefit/schemes available for ESM, Veer Naris & Widows.
Medical services were also provided to the Ex-Servicemen, Veer Naries & Widows by the Ex-Servicemen Contributory Health Scheme. Ex-servicemen Counters were also functional throughout the event where the participants clarified their financial anomalies with respect to their pension. The rally terminated with assurances of working positively towards alleviating the problems of ESM, Veer Naris & Widows. Overall, the interaction provided an opportunity to understand the problems faced by the ESM, Veer Naris, Widow and reassuring them that the organization will continue to look after their welfare.
