The Army organised a veterinary camp at Village Makhidhar of Rajouri District. The response from the local populace was unprecedented owing to people from adjacent villages also attending the camp.
About 2000 animals and livestock were treated by a team of Veterinary Doctors and assistants from the Army Veterinary Corps and Civil Veterinary assistants from Animal Husbandry Department, Samote. Free veterinary medicines were also distributed as part of the veterinary health initiative.
Prominent members of Civil Administration along with a number of Sarpanchs were also present during the camp. Speaking on the occasion, Sarpanch of village Makhidhar, on behalf of the locals expressed his gratitude towards the Indian Army for its initiative in veterinary care for the remote villages. He appreciated the efforts of the Army towards treatment of their livestock.
