“Sports not only build better athletes but also better people.” Army Public School Damana organized a thrilling and Vibrant annual Sports Day for the Junior Wing of the school (Balvatika I to Class V) on 10 December 2024 amidst great mirth, verve and camaraderie. The event witnessed the gracious presence of the Chairman of the school as the Chief Guest and Chairperson FWO Chenab Brigade as the Guest of Honour.Mrs Pushpinder Kaur, the Principal of the school extended a hearty and formal welcome to the guests and dignitaries followed by Torch Run presented by Ayansh Sharma (V), Jr Sports Captain. The Guest of Honour declared the meet open by releasing colorful balloons amid joy and merriment.To set a tone of reverence and invoke the blessings of the almighty, lighting of the ceremonial lamp was done followed by a soul elevating Saraswati Vandana. Thereafter, the event proceeded with an Oath Taking Ceremony subsequent to a well- synchronized March Past by the four House Contingents and one Cubs & Bulbul Contingent from Junior Wing mesmerizing the spectators with awestruck. The day featured an array of exciting events wherein students from various age groups and houses participated displaying remarkable skill, agility, and determination. The events included various races for students of Balvatika such as Threads and Beads, Button Up the Shirt, Hurdle Race and Relay Race. The most intriguing aspect which embellished the event was the enthusiastic and mass participation of the students showcasing the school’s commitment in promoting Physical Fitness, Teamwork, and Sportsmanship. The students of the classes Pre-Nursery to V also presented a colourful display of ‘Bhartyam’ and ‘Yoga’.
