Additional Deputy Commissioner, Dr. Gurvinderjeet Singh today reviewed the arrangements for ensuing 3-day historical Sudhmahadev Mela at a meeting held under his chairmanship. This annual important event will commence from 16th of June 2019 in Tehsil Chenani. The meeting discussed in detail the arrangements to be put in place for the Mela for the pilgrims visiting from different places of the country. The ADC called for a coordinated approach and specifically focused on ensuring the basic facilities like drinking water, uninterrupted power supply, medicare, sanitation, security, transport, accommodation, essential commodities and parking according to the requirements.
The ADC asked the Chief Medical Officer to depute a team of doctors with ambulance and making available required medicines to meet any eventuality at Chenani, Sudhmahadev and Mantalai round the clock during the mela days.
Executive Engineer, PWD was asked to erect separate temporary toilets for males and females at the mela site. Executive Officer Municipality was asked to maintain sanitation and proper cleanliness during the mela. Modalities for providing tented accommodation at Mela site were also discussed.
The ARTO Udhampur would ensure plying of adequate number of buses from Udhampur to Sudhmahadev during the Mela days.
To acquaint the people with state and centrally sponsored schemes, various departments were asked to set up their stalls during mela days.
Tehsildar, Chenani, who is the Mela Officer would supervise all arrangements. All District officers were present in the meeting.
