Art of living foundation Jammu chapter conducted YES PLUS (YOUTH EMPOWERMENT SKILLS WORKSHOP) the Art of Living Program at SHRI MATA VAISHNO DEVI UNIVERSITY KATRA for the FIRST Time In which more than 50 students from all Engineering streams of first to fourth year participated with full zeal and enthusiasm. 5 days 18 hours committed sessions with interactive lectures on optimism and stress management were key features. The Speaker of initial sessions was Rohit Ranjan Senior International Faculty for youth Programs from Art of Living International Centre Banglore , India and State Coordinator of Youth Programs for Jammu and Kashmir. He motivated students that better living is the blessed one .According to his success in life depends upon one’s attitude and enthusiasm. He also stressed upon importance of concentration in studies. In subsequent sessions Mr Manjeet Singh Art of Living teacher from Punjab also interacted with the youth and informed them about soft skills and domain knowledge. Both made them aware of the importance of these two skills in becoming a successful person. They also stressed that it is important to be happy before rather than being successful.
The other Faculty members from Art of Living foundation, Bangalore, discussed and gave students demos, conducted practice sessions on Breathing techniques and activities, helping them in improving their concentration and clarity of mind. The aim of the program is to make students to boost confidence, enhance creativity, regulate time management, and develop interpersonal relationships and leadership skill. The team of experts from Art of Living foundation, Bangalore consisted of Mr. Rohit Ranjan, Mr. Manjeet Singh, Ms. Amarjyot and Ms. Shruti (YES PLUS Faculty) delivered Lectures to explore students’ academics interests and motivate them to work for excellence, promote bonding among themselves and build character to meet the future challenges of life.
The Art of Living have launched this initiative also to help aspiring students, who are preparing for entrance examinations, combat the heightened level of stress. Apart from meditation, students learnt the Art of Living’s powerful rhythmic breathing technique Sudarshan Kriya , updated Ajay kapoor State coordinator- Art of living bureau of communication and DDC. Dean Academics Dr S Khajuria and Dr Das senior faculty from SMVDU katra also interacted with students on last day and heard about wonderful experiences students had during the course. They have announced to have such activities on regular basis in the campus now on and formation of wellness club for students to organize these workshops after experience sharing session with students .
Youth in Workshop took a pledge to spread Gurudev Sri Sri Ravi Shankar message of optimism to lakhs of youth all over the Globe. Once Gurudev said “The sign of youth is to dream, do something for your country, society, and their institutes, in any field -beat studies, Sport, Art, and Literature and to have unshakeable faith that only the best would happen for them. He has also urged students to stay away from any type of addictions and reiterated that meditation and spirituality is a higher and better Intoxicant than other mediums.”Own the society & the world right away,” Gurudev said, “This world belongs to you.
