As a part of the ongoing Sewa Parv 2025 celebration & in order to promote road safety in the district,ARTO Kishtwar in collaboration with Bureau of Indian Standards & Principal Govt Polytechnic College Kishtwar organized a road safety awareness event, at Govt Polytechnic College Kishtwar.The initiative aimed to educate students on the importance of road safety, and empower them with the knowledge needed to become responsible road users.During the interactive session, students learned about traffic rules, pedestrian safety and the necessity of wearing helmets and seatbelts, besides the importance of safe practices when walking or cycling.Speaking at the event,ARTO Kishtwar, Tasleem Wani JKAS , highlighted the importance of road safety education for students, saying,”Educating young people about road safety is a vital step towards reducing accidents.The students are the future drivers, cyclists, and pedestrians, and teaching them the rules today will help save lives tomorrow.””We should not take things for granted, we have to be sensitive, let us reflect on road safety rules by saving lives,” he elaborated. Principal College,Er Mehmood Ahmed said that the programme is the part of the larger mission to aim and sensitize students regarding road safety rules and valuing life of our dear ones and others.
MVI Kishtwar, Robin Parihar highlighted the road safety rules and regulations.He said the role of youth in minimizing road accidents and saving precious lives is very important.Er Dheeraj Shan gave a brief presentation on Standards and Hallmarking of Helmets & Gold.Standard writing & Debate competition on BIS code (Helmet) was also conducted & prizes were distributed among first three winners,besides distribution of free Helmets & appreciation certificates among students who spoke on road safety. The event was attended by Er Arun Singh (I/C Academics), Er. Anuj Kotwal, Er. Karishma Parihar, Er. Syed Rubiya, Er. Haroon Waza, Er.Ashfaq Hussain, and Mr. Rajesh Singh & College students.
