The Office of the Chief Education Officer (CEO) Samba, in collaboration with ALIMCO Kanpur organised this year’s first Medical Assessment Camp for Children with Special Needs (CWSNs) at Government Higher Secondary School Vijaypur, today.
A large number of identified CWSNs, along with their parents and guardians, attended the camp. The Camp aimed to assess the requirement of the identified CWSNs for different assistive devices under the Education Department’s inclusive education initiatives.
The Chief Education Officer, in his address, highlighted the importance of inclusive education and assured that every effort is being made to provide necessary support to children with special needs for their holistic growth.
He also informed the gathering about various welfare schemes, scholarships, and facilities available under the Education Department for CWSNs.
The Zonal Education Officer Vijaypur also addressed the parents and students, sensitising them about government initiatives and encouraging them to take maximum benefit of the schemes.
The medical team from ALIMCO Kanpur conducted assessments and identified the requirements of children for aids and appliances.
Special Education Teachers and Zonal Coordinators extended full support in managing the camp, ensuring proper documentation, attendance and coordination with parents.
The parents expressed gratitude to the Education Department and ALIMCO for organising such an initiative at the grassroots level.
The camp will continue as per the schedule, with the next phase to be held at Boys HSS Samba on 24th September 2025.
