Awareness programme on ‘World HIV/AIDS Day’ held at Pulwama

In compliance with the directions of JK Legal Services Authority, the District Legal Services Authority (DLSA) Pulwama today organized an awareness programme on ‘World HIV/AIDS Day’ in collaboration with the Health Department at District Hospital Pulwama and Community Health Centre Rajpora Pulwama.
The programme was organized under the chairmanship of Naseer Ahmad Dar, Chairman DLSA (Pr. District & Sessions Judge), Pulwama and under the supervision of Mudasar Farooq, Secretary DLSA Pulwama
On this occasion, Advocate Syed Irfan Mohammad informed the participants and medical specialists about the principal objective of the medical profession, which is to render services to humanity with full respect for human dignity. He said the doctor cannot withhold treatment from any patient based on a moral judgment that the patient’s activities or lifestyle might have contributed to the condition for which treatment was being sought.
Furthermore, Dr. Bisma (pathologist) from District Hospital Pulwama also gave a brief lecture about the principles of HIV Prevention and Positives and the efficacy of the event.
Subsequently, another programme on the same theme was organized at Community Health Centre Rajpora Pulwama in which Advocate Sameer Yatoo deliberated on the legal rights of individuals living with HIV/AIDs.
The programme was attended by a handsome gathering including staff members and PLVs of DLSA Pulwama.
