Badminton, Kho-Kho competition begins

JAMMU, Sept 16:
Organised by the Directorate of Sports and Physical Education, University of Jammu (JU), annual inter-college competitions in the disciplines of Badminton and Kho-Kho in both men and women sections got underway at Gymnasium Hall on the JU campus, here today.
Senior Correspondent of Dainik Jagran, Vikas Abrol was chief guest, who along with Director Sports, JU, Dr Dawood Iqbal Baba and Manager MA Stadium, Ashok Singh interacted with the teams, a handout issued here today informed.
Among others present, Ramesh Sharma, Ramesh Mangotra, Gopal Dass, Vikesh Sharma (GDC Jindrah), Sonu (GDC, Paloura), Sunil Kumar (GDC, Akhnoor), Vikram Jamwal (GDC, Hiranagar), Mukesh Kumar (GDC, Ramnagar), Akhil Khajuria (GDC Nowshera), Ravi Kumar (GDC, Sunderbani), Mohd. Ilyas (GDC Mendhar), Balbir Singh Chib (GCET), Dr. Pinky Sharma (GCW, Udhampur), Prof. Meenkashi Sharma (GDC Jindrah), Goutam Sharma (GDC, Khour), Dr. Bhupinder Singh (GDC Hiranagar), Sanjay Verma, Prof. Pinaki Bakshi (Bashkar Degree College) and Vikas Karlopia.
BADMINTON: MEN: GDC Paloura beat GDC Bhaderwah 3-1; GDC Reasi beat GDC Hiranagar 3-0; ASCOMS beat GDC Akhnoor 3-0; GDC Nowshera beat TDC Nardani 3-0; PG Department beat YCET 3-0. WOMEN: GDC Akhnoor beat Government College for Women Parade 2-1; ASCOMS Sidhra beat GDC Ramnagar 2-0.
The matches officiated by Sat Pal Sharma (SAI Coach), Vikram Saini (SAI Coach), Ravish Vaid, Sanjeev Sharma, Jeevan Lal, Tarvinder Pal Singh, Shivam Sharma, Buneet, Gourav and Rohit.
KHO-KHO: WOMEN: GDC Ramnagar beat GDC Bishnah by 14 (15-01) points;
GDC Samba beat GDC Kathua by 04 (09-05) points. MEN: PG Department beat GDC Billawar by 12 (18-06) points; GDC Mahanpur beat GDC Hirangar by six (18-12) points; GDC Jindrah beat GDC Mendhar by seven (21-14) points.
The matches officiated by the technical penal including Ajay Gupta, Anil Sharma, Dhiraj Sharma, Raman Kalaria Jagdev Soingh Palbinder Singh, Anil Kumar, Shibal Bhau, Surbhi Avtal, Pooja Sharma, Mohd. Israr and Gagan Kumar.
