JAMMU, Oct 19:
Balbir Singh of Chowki Choura in Tehsil Akhnoor brought laurels to the Government Degree College (GDC) Sunderbani after he won gold medal in the recently held inter-college Boxing competition.
Balbir contested in 64 kg weight category and defeated his opponent from a city college in the final bout. Balbir is a trainee of Gautam Sharma (Trainer), who runs a coaching centre of J&K State Sports Council at Government Higher Secondary School Chowki Choura.
Another trainee of Gautam, Vishal Singh took part in the Khelo India boxing meet and secured a Bronze medal in 49 kg weight group.
As per the reports reaching here, presently Gautam trains a group of around 25 young boxers at remove village of Chowki Choura.
