BJP felicitates newly elected BDC chairmen

BJP called upon an introductory meeting of newly elected Chairmen of Block Development Council (BDC), which also witnessed the participation of party’s Office Bearers, District Presidents and Incharges at party headquarter, Trikuta Nagar, Jammu.

Jammu & Kashmir BJP President Ravinder Raina chaired the meeting. MP (Lok Sabha) Jugal Kishore Sharma, Speaker & former Dy. CM Dr. Nirmal Singh, former Dy. CM Kavinder Gupta, former Minister Sat Sharma, General Secretaries Dr. Narinder Singh, Yudhvir Sethi, Sunil Sharma, former MLC Ashok Khajuria, General Secretary (Org.) Ashok Kaul and other senior leaders also addressed the meeting.

Ravinder Raina, while congratulating the newly elected BDC members stated that BDC elections have opened new dimensions for development in villages and put onus of responsibility on their shoulders and the party expects that they maintain the dignity of the office they hold, while working in accordance with the party principles and policies. He said that they have put lots of efforts for achieving this feast and now they have to further prove their dedication with extra effort. He assured them of full help from the organization in their political and social endeavours for promoting development in their respective areas.

Raina, emphasized that opposition parties led the vicious campaign during the recently held BDC polls and tried to communalize the atmosphere, but with elated spirits we feel proud to today felicitate members from all regions, all religions; all communities and all faiths and this is a hard slap on those who tried to contest these elections on communal agenda, he said.

Jugal Kishore Sharma, congratulated all the newly elected BDC members, while terming this as the big win for democracy in the region. He said that NC, Congress and PDP with all their might, opposed the elections, but the Sarpanchs and Panchs contributed to the success of whole exercise. He said that Panchayats have been empowered after the election of Block Chairman as all the funds would now be allocated at Panchayat level and every corner will get equal share of development. Under leadership of Prime Minister Narendra Modi and Home Minister Amit Shah BJP is working on the ideology of “Sabka Sath Sabka Vikaas and Sabka Vishwaas”, and this development agenda will now be taken more aggressively after conduct of BDC, he said.

Dr. Nirmal Singh, discussed the 3-tier democratic setup in India. He said that now with the successful conduct of BDC elections, the rural development mission is systematized and sooner to achieve the aim of broad spectrum development, the BJP will press for the conduct of District Development Council (DDC) elections. He stressed that the India enjoyed the democratic system long before the world even gave a serious thought about that.

Kavinder Gupta, in his address lamented that more than 13 times, the ground level elections have been conducted to strengthen the Panchayati Raj system. He said that it was the misfortune of J&K state residents that very few times the elections were conducted in our state and BDC elections were now conducted for the very first time here with sincere efforts on part of BJP.

Ashok Kaul, discussed the details of the forthcoming organizational programmes. He particularly laid the emphasis on the successful conduct of “Gandhi Sankalp Yatra” in all Parliamentary constituencies.

Ashok Khajuria, prompted all the BDC Chairmen to give full regards to common masses after they assume their office as they have entered into the new responsibility zone to serve them (public) with full dedication.

Sunil Sharma conducted meeting proceedings.

All the newly elected BDC Chairmen were felicitated by the senior party leadership and were presented organizational book and Patka on the occasion.

Many prominent political personalities also joined BJP in from of senior party functionaries, while appreciating the party policies and decisive steps taken by Modi government.
