Bharat Bhushan Bodhi, Chairman of the District Development Council (DDC) Jammu, today inaugurated the macadamization of two road projects including Batera to Behra Panchayat Ghar in Lower Gharota, Bhalwal and another road project from Ring Road to Govt Middle School Kangrail. The two road projects are set to be completed at an estimated cost of ?2.90 crore.
The occasion was graced by the presence of prominent personalities, including Dr. Shallu (former Sarpanch), Santosh Kumari (former Sarpanch), Nitu Verma (former Panch), Ashok Kerni (President BJP Mandal AmbGarota), Narinder Singh, Raju (former Panch), Subhash Sharma, and other distinguished members of the community. Speaking at the event, Bharat Bhushan Bodhi emphasized the Modi government’s unwavering commitment to the development of rural areas.
He highlighted the significant strides made in enhancing road connectivity in rural regions since the establishment of District Development Councils (DDCs). “The DDCs have been working with utmost dedication to ensure comprehensive development across all corners of the district,” he said.
Reflecting on the vision of Prime Minister Narendra Modi, Bharat Bhushan underscored the central government’s deep concern for rural upliftment.
He remarked, “The focus on rural infrastructure by the Modi government is transforming lives by ensuring better connectivity and accessibility.”
The DDC Chairman assured the people of the area that the momentum of development would continue unabated, with a special emphasis on fulfilling the aspirations of rural communities. “This road will not only enhance connectivity but also open up new avenues for economic and social growth for the residents,” he said.
“The project is expected to significantly improve the quality of life for the people of Lower Gharota, serving as a testament to the government’s dedication to bridging the rural-urban divide,” he added. The local residents expressed their gratitude for the efforts of the administration and the leadership of Bharat Bhushan Bodhi in addressing long-standing infrastructural needs.
