The 40th Foundation Day of J&K National Panthers Party (JKNPP) was observed at Dogra Hall, Jammu today which unanimously elected Prof.Bhim Singh as the President of JKNPP for next three years. Prof.Bhim Singh was proposed as a President by the Working Committee of JKNPP unanimously. He took over as President of the party after a gap of two decades. Prof.Bhim Singh announced that he shall reconstitute the Secretariat as well as the Working Committee of JKNPP after discussing the issue with the senior Panthers Party Members of the Working Committee.
Prof.Bhim Singh has constituted the Panthers Party on March 23, 1982 after resigning from the Assembly membership and the Congress party in 1982. Prof.Bhim Singh welcomed the senior leaders from Ladakh, Kashmir and Jammu provinces who participated in the meeting.
The first session of the Panthers Party paid tributes to the national heroes Sardar Bhagat Singh, Rajguru and Sukhdev who were hanged on March 23, 1931 by the British Govt. in Lahore Central Jail.
Dr. Farooq Abdullah, Member Parliament of National Conference in Lok Sabha & Former Chief Minister of J&K was the Chief Guest when the Panthers Party held a first session to pay tributes to national martyrs on March 23, 1931. Dr. Farooq Abdullah in his one-honour striking speech congratulated the Panthers Party for observing this day in memory of the three great martyrs. Dr. Farooq Abdullah also conveyed to the Panthers Party that all secular, nationalist and humanist political parties and the leadership shall walk together, fight together for justice, equity, humanity, non-alignment and world peace.
Mr. P.K. Ganju (Returning Officer for JKNPP election) also declared after taking a vote from the delegates declaring that Prof.Bhim Singh has been elected as President of JKNPP for the three years w.e.f. from this day.

Iqbal Chowdhary (Vice Presidents), Ms. Anita Thakur, Hakikat Singh Jamwal, Yashpaul Kundal (General Secretaries), Capt. Anil Gour (Provincial President-Jammu Pradesh), Sheikh Shalim Advocate, Member-WC, Poonch, Balwan Singh, Distt. President, Reasi, Sheikh Imtiaz, District President-Kishtwar and others.
