Big 129 runs win for NCC on way to semis

JAMMU, June 13:
National Cricket Club (NCC) today qualified for the semifinals after they registered a big 129 runs win against New Challenger Cricket Club (NCCC) in the ongoing JKCA Premier Cricket Championship for district Jammu at GGM Science College Hostel Ground, here. Earlier, NCC won the toss and decided to bat first they set a target of 227 runs for three wickets in 27 overs a side game. Aditya Partap Singh played superb innings of unbeaten 77 (off 55 balls, 12×4) while Pranav contributed 42 (off 28 balls, 1×4, 3×6) not out. Abid Samad (36), Sahil Bhawal (32) and Manish Dogra (25) were other scorers. Harjeet two and Naresh Kumar one were wicket takers from New Challengers.
In reply, New Challenger could not do well were struggling at 65 for five at one stage. With the result, the whole side bowled out for cheaply for 98 runs in 20.4 overs. Naresh Kumar was the only batsman to face the opponent bowlers with confidence contributing 21-ball 32 runs. Ved added 13 runs to the total while no other batsman could touch the double figure mark. From NCC, Tamney emerged as most successful with three for 31 in five overs while Sahil Bhalwal and Vijay Dogra shared two each. Aditya Partap Singh was named man of the match for his brilliant batting. Sadiq Hussain Malik and Rahul Kumar were umpires in today’s match.
