Huge public gatherings in favour of Congress candidates are an indication of the reality that Congress is emerging as first choice of people in Jammu region. This was stated by JKPCC Working President and Congress contesting candidate from Jammu-Reasi Parliamentary seat Raman Bhalla while addressing election gatherings at Shajroo, Maore, Rangli, Badar, Sungri, Chasana, Sanglikot, Kundan in Reasi District.Prominent among those present on the occasion include Ex Minister NC Abdul Gani Malik, District President Reasi Bopinder Singh Jamwal, DDC Master Mohd Israil , Sarpanch Chatter Singh, Adv. Ayaz Hussain, Abdul Gani Block President, Ayub Ayan, Imtiaz Wami, Mohd Ul Malik, Haji Mohd Shafi, Mohd Iqbalb, Ch. Siraj Din, Haji Rafiq Mir, NC Leader Nawaz Ahmed
Addressing a largely attended gathering, Bhalla said that Congress is the only secular, democratic alternative to the present dispensation which believes in divide, crush and rule. He said that winds of change are blowing in J&K and Congress is emerging as a first choice in J&K in view of the consistency in its policy and secular credentials. He said that people in Jammu & Kashmir feel cheated from BJP whom they voted to majority in 2014/ 2019.He said BJP so far has run govt against the wishes of the people. Still people expected them to deliver and come up to their expectations, to which they utterly failed because of their vested agenda.
Bhalla said BJP badly divided the people on regional and religious lines and vitiated the overall social and secular atmosphere besides failed to deal with the security environment and finally left J&K in political uncertainty. He said that Congress party would always remain steady on its principles of secularism, and equality for all & equitable development of J&K. He expressed confidence that our strengthen booth units will definitely win electoral battle from Jammu-Reasi constituency.
Bhalla charged the Government in J&K for creating a mess of the whole situation and worst ever misrule in the history of the State.He said that 2014/2019 elections were held in a totally polarized atmosphere and the BJP not only exploited the religious emotions of people but also surrendered before the hunger of power. People saw real face of BJP when it came to power after total surrender of their agenda. Expressing hope, Bhalla claimed that Congress Party will form next Government in Jammu and Kashmir. Bhalla coming down heavily on BJP said, the party befooled the people with their false promises and they completely failed to fulfill the promises made with the people of Jammu and Kashmir. The first time rule under BJP proved to be worse of its kind where the common masses were suffering and ruling class enjoyed royal lifestyle.”They never care for Jammu where from they got their votes. The people who voted them to power faced frequent power cuts, lack of drinking water supply, price rise of essential commodities, failed to deal with Pakistan on borders, due to which many soldiers got martyred in absence of strong foreign policy,” he alleged. He said that BJP has brought Jammu and Kashmir at a stage with one region is stood against other.
“It was Congress Government which always kept J&K united as one unit. There was equal share in development and employment without any disparity,” he said, while praising the people friendly policy of the previous Congress Government. He said Congress will continue to fight anti- people policies of the Centre and LG’s Administration in J&K UT, besides defeating the challenges faced on various fronts especially, misleading politics of BJP.“Party is supreme and every worker is bound to further strengthen it at grass roots level and serve people as Congress has the legacy of serving and strengthening the people,” Bhalla said.
Former Minister said Congress will form next government in Jammu and Kashmir. He said bureaucratic rule has never been alternative to democratically elected Government. He said all major projects in J&K UT were mostly conceived and launched by Congress government. Bhalla said people of Jammu and Kashmir are eagerly, waiting for assembly elections and they will teach a lesson to BJP in J&K. He said Congress Party is serving people with dedication and without self-interest. Congress leader said he and his party is available for service at people 24×7.He said that Congress is only political force in the country consistently playing role of healthy opposition in the country.
Reiterating his resolve to institutionalize transparency and accountability in the governance, Bhalla said that the Congress had shown the way for strengthening democratic and constitutional institutions in the State by initiating various revolutionary steps during its tenure in the power. Complimenting people for their patience, Bhalla said that the trust and confidence shown by people in his party was the guiding force to transform Jammu and Kashmir as an island of peace and prosperity.
Bhalla said J&K had lost a great lot since its division. “We were told that the scene in Jammu & Kashmir will change after making J&KUT and Growth, hospitals, unemployment will be taken care of. But that has not happened at all. As a matter of fact, we were far better off when it was being ruled by various Chief Ministers, Bhalla said. So, we are a great loser. We have been a great loser after the state’s division into two parts. We have been a great loser ever since the Assembly was dissolved,” he added.
