Jammu and Kashmir BJP’s Nanaji Deshmukh Library and Documentation Department, under its Incharge Prof. (Dr.) Kulbhushan Mohtra, celebrated 7th Foundation Day at party headquarters, Trikuta Nagar, Jammu.
MP, Lok Sabha, Jugal Kishore Sharma, Major General Govardhan Singh Jamwal, Padamshree Awardee Mohan Singh Salathia, former Deputy Chief Minister, Kavinder Gupta, BJP General Secretary & former minister, Dr. Devinder Kumar Manyal, BJP senior leader Chander Mohan Sharma, former Mayor Rajinder Sharma, were the prominent personalities of the civil society and the party, who presented their views on the importance of a library and the documentation department of any institution or organization. They congratulated Prof. (Dr.) Kulbhushan Motra for his efforts in establishing and running the library and maintaining it successfully. Jugal Kishore Sharma, while addressing a large gathering of prominent leaders, scholars, intellectuals and historians, on this occasion, said that the library set up in the premises of the BJP headquarter, is not only meant for the party activists but anyone can come and utilize it for study purposes and competitive tests. He said that the library is equipped with books on varied subjects, which are helping people lot. Govardhan Singh Jamwal, while speaking on the occasion, shared his experience of serving the motherland while working in Indian army and stressed that focused and dedicated work takes one to heights of success. He said that a library is an institution in itself, where one finds literary material in the form of books and journals published from time to time. Mohan Singh Salathia spoke on promoting dogri, adding that libraries can play crucial role in promotion of Dogri language.
Kavinder Gupta, said that the Nanaji Deshmukh Library and Documentation Department is a treasure of historic events contained in books and it will benefit the students, book lovers, scholars as they will find too much of the written material under one roof.
Dr. Devinder Kumar Manyal, in his address, said that the setting up of new library was a challenging job but Prof. (Dr.) Mohtra put best efforts to come out with this, which is today, one of the best library of any political party not only in the J&K but across the country.
Chander Mohan Sharma recalled the days of historic agitations of Praja Parishad, Jana Sangh and BJP and said that the Nanaji Deshmukh Library has large number of books which narrate important events in the history of Jammu and Kashmir in particular. Prof. (Dr.) Kulbushan Mohtra, on this occasion, presented a brief note on the books available in the library and said that many people visit the library to find the material of their choice in the books available here. He said that during the last over 6 years, many scholars have done research work through the books of the library.
