Jammu, Dec 27:
With the successful and peaceful conduct of the Panchayat elections in Jammu and Kashmir, now the next phase has to be undertaken so that the democracy is strengthened in real sense. The Governor Administration should order election to Block Development Council (BDC) and District Planning and Development Board (DPDB) at the earliest.
A demand in this regard was made by BJP Panchayati Raj Cell State Convenor Anil Sharma, while addressing media persons. BJP State Incharge All Cells S. Varinderjeet Singh and Panchayati Raj Cell team member Raj Kumar also accompanied Anil Sharma during the media interaction at party headquarter, Trikuta Nagar, Jammu.
Anil Sharma said that three tier process is required to be followed for real strengthening of grassroot level democracy and these are elections of Panchayats, elections of BDC and DPDB. The first phase has been completed and now 2nd and 3rd phase should also be completed. He said that Panchayats are incomplete will BDC and DPDB and hence it should be undertaken as soon as possible, so that the public be benefitted in the real sense.
Sharma said that Bharatiya Janata Party has always taken stand for the strengthening of these institutions in the past and in the state it is only due to the strong will of BJP leaders that the local elections could be held whether they were Urban Local Bodies elections or Panchayat elections. He said that even the so called main stream political parties like NC and PDP tried to the final extent to sabotage the process exposing their real separatist ideology and cruel intents.
Anil Sharma also expressed his gratitude towards the honourable President of India, Centre Government under the leadership of Prime Minister Narendra Modi, honourable Governor of Jammu & Kashmir S.S. Malik, Election Commission, Security Agencies and other all for the successful completion of Panchayati elections in the J&K State. He also thanked the public of J&K for the bumper voting in the elections hence making the whole process a great and grand success, while expressing confidence that these elections will strengthen democracy at the grass root level.
