BJP East Mandal today celebrated first anniversary of the abrogation of Article 370 and 35A at Bharat Mata Chowk Jammu while adhering to the COVID-19 guidelines.
On the occasion, Ashok Koul, J&K BJP General Secretary (Org) and Yudhvir Sethi hosted the National Flag in presence of Ashok Khajuria, Ex MLC, former Minister Priya Sethi, Deputy Mayor Purnima Sharma, Corporator & Chairman Health & Sanitation Committee JMC, Baldev Billowaria and Kuldeep Kandhari Speaking on the occasion, Ashok Koul said that separatist leaders of Kashmir Valley have befooled the people in the name of Article 370 and ‘special status’. He said that they accuse the BJP of eroding Article 370, but the fact is that for nearly half-a-century after independence, these leaders have ruined the erstwhile Jammu and Kashmir State.
Saying that petty politics on issues of national importance should be avoided, Koul said the abrogation of Article 370 was done for the unity and integrity of the country. He said Modi Government has do justice with the people of J and K. He said that people belonging to all religions across the country have rejoiced the abrogation of Articles 370 and 35-A from Jammu and Kashmir.
Yudhvir Sethi, in his address, said that Prime Minister Narendra Modi has fulfilled Syama Prasad Mukherjee’s dream of abrogating Article 370 in Kashmir. He remembered Syama Prasad Mukherjee and said that he was martyred in Kashmir and after 73 years, Narendra Modi, right after coming back to office as PM, fulfilled his dream.
Sethi highlighted achievements of BJP in J&K UT comprised of establishment of AIIMS, IIT, IIM, bridges, hydroelectric projects, expansion of Jammu Airport and many more. He said that the sort of development J&K has witnessed in these five years; it had never witnessed before. He also applauded the bold step taken by Prime Minister, Narendra Modi to combat COVID-19 pandemic.
