JAMMU, Feb 16:
Senior BJP leader and former deputy chief minister Kavinder Gupta asserted that BJP is chalking out roadmap to bring in revolutionary as well as seismic changes in infrastructure development to give a major push to religious tourism.
He was speaking during the annual fair on the auspicious occasion of Basant Panchami here at Mathwar Shrine.
The BJP leader made it clear that the scope to woo pilgrims to J&K is vast and if proper focus is laid with perspective of giving the visitors what they want, a good number of tourists can get attracted to this most beautiful place on the earth. He said that sooner than later PM Modi led government will ensure that all the places in J&K having religious significance will get added attention and a campaign will be launched to popularize these places across the country and even abroad. Extending greetings to the people on Basant Panchami, he said though Covid Pandemic has snarled the development process for a while but with sincere efforts of BJP government at the centre and the local administration, the development process is now back on tracks.
He said that religious tourism in Jammu region has lot of scope which the earlier dispensations never bothered to explore but now BJP at the centre, will take monumental steps to make sure that religious tourism gets the place which it deserves.
He said Sudh Mahadev, Mantalai, Budda Amarnath, Bahu Temple, Shahdara Sharief, Sukrala Mata, Dera Banda Bahadur, etc are few places of religious significance in Jammu and on the same lines Kashmir has also got several places which are awaiting government response for up-scaling since over last 70 years but successive governments led by NC, PDP and Congress never took pain towards this sector thus wiping out these vital destinations from the tourist maps of the country. He reiterated that BJP firmly believed in Sabka Saath Sabka Vikas and Sabka Vishvas therefore it is out of question that any community or sect will have to face discrimination rather soon people of J&K will get to know that all the religious places having tourism potential will be developed on modern lines with people from across the country and from foreign lands longing to visit the same for satiating their spiritual and religious desires that too amid the beauty and splendor of J&K.
