The BJP’s Gaon/Basti Chalo Abhiyan was launched in Ward No. 69, Sainik Colony, Jammu with full enthusiasm and strong public support. Senior Leader BJP J&K Ajay Pargal, who is the incharge of this campaign for Ward No. 69, led the entire programme, spending the day connecting with local residents and listening to their issues.
He was accompanied by Advocate Ishant Gupta, BJP J&K State IT Head, and former Corporator of Ward No. 69, Gurmeet Kour Randhawa. They received a warm welcome from Kunjwani Mandal President Ajay Pratap Singh, his Mandal team, and booth-level BJP workers. Many party karyakartas and residents also actively participated, including Vishal Dasgotra (Mandal General Secretary), Santosh Sharma, Kamalpreet Singh, Shatrujeet Singh, Shivnandan Singh Charak, Sahil Sagar, Ishan Choudhary, Puneet Slathia, KS Manhas and others.
The programme included several meaningful activities. A Swachhata Abhiyan (cleanliness drive) was held at key public and religious places, including cleaning the statue of Shaheed Major Ajay Singh Jasrotia and nearby water bodies and parks. The team interacted with beneficiaries of various central government schemes and understood how these schemes are helping in their lives. They also inspected public services like schools, parks, and tube wells to review infrastructure conditions.
An open Chaupal was organised where local people spoke about their concerns and shared suggestions directly with the BJP leaders. Dedicated party workers and booth committee members were honoured for their continuous service. The team also visited the homes of senior community members to strengthen personal connections.
While Speaking, Ajay Pargal said, “This campaign helps us connect with the people directly.
It boosts the morale of our workers and helps us understand ground realities better. Every small step taken today will lead to a better tomorrow.” He also spoke about the BJP’s guiding principle under Prime Minister Narendra Modi — “Sabka Saath, Sabka Vikas, Sabka Vishwas, Sabka Prayas,” and highlighted Pandit Deendayal Upadhyaya’s vision of Antyodaya — serving the last person in line. Pargal said that the BJP’s Gaon/Basti Chalo Abhiyan continues to serve as a beacon of grassroots democracy and commitment to public service, reaffirming the party’s dedication to building a stronger nation.
Advocate Ishant Gupta said that this Abhiyan is happening across the country to reach out to citizens, and spread awareness about the big changes brought by the BJP government under the dynamic leadership of Prime Minister Narendra Modi.
