It was due to the truthful campaign started by Leader of Opposition in Lok Sabha Mr Rahul Gandhi to unite people and expose the nefarious designs of the divisive forces represented by RSS-BJP, that people brought Mr Narendra Modi-led BJP to the ground. As a result, those who were spreading falsehoods to win 400 seats could not even get a simple majority.
Addressing a press conference here today, the newly appointed Congress Working President, senior advocate Mr Mohinder Bhardwaj criticized Home Minister Mr Amit Shah for questioning Mr Gandhi’s efforts at unifying the society through his dictum “Nafrat ke Bazaar mein Mohabbat ki dukan’. “Mr Shah’s statement made at an election rally that Mr Gandhi’s “fake mohabat ki dukan” will close down on October 8 when assembly elections results come is in itself an act of fakery. clear majority,” he said. Asking people of both Jammu and Kashmir regions to overwhelmingly vote for the Congress-National Conference, he said the present assembly election is historic for many reasons. It is both a reason to rejoice that people are able to elect a popular government after a gap of 10 years. And sorrow that people of what was a bubbling state, are voting to elect a truncated assembly of powerless Union.
Mr Bhardwaj said the biggest challenge in this election is to defeat the divisive and communal forces. These forces represented by BJP-RSS who were instrumental in demoting and dividing the state of Jammu and Kashmir. And the effort to further create divide on religion and regional lines are going on in a full swing. Congratulating people on Maharaja Hari Singh’s birth anniversary, he said, “look at how Mr Modi and BJP have decimated and demoted the state of Jammu and Kashmir which he had made part of India. Those who swear by the Maharaja and are politicizing his name have heaped a big insult on him by eroding his heritage”.
He criticised both the Modi government and the LG’s administration for their anti-people policies and making life miserable for them. “People are facing a plethora of problems like alarming unemployment, inflated power bills due to installation of smart meters, poor roads and civic amenities, and the farm sector reeling under serious stress. Their tall claims that dilution of Article 370 will eradicate militancy and make people’s life comfortable in all respects have fallen flat and the lies stand fully exposed,” he further said.
Stating that the Congress is committed to get the statehood status and the process of durbar move restored, he said these steps were taken by the Centre to attack the diversity and brotherhood of J&K. “We are solely guided by our beloved leader Mr Rahul Gandhi’s popular slogan “NAFART KE BAZAAR MEIN MOHABBAT KI DUKAN” to defeat BJP’s divisive tendencies and bridge the gaps at the societal levels in Jammu and between Jammu and Kashmir regions.
He appealed to the people to vote for Congress-National Conference candidates to defeat the forces which have decimated the grand Jammu and Kashmir handed over to us by the Maharaja.
