JAMMU, MAR 09:
Exposing the diabolic character of the BJP involved in the covert treason and perfidy against the faith of the people of Jammu Pradesh and Hindus in particular, Mr. Harsh Dev Singh Chairman JKNPP in a sensational revelation during a press conference in Jammu today accused the BJP for being hand in glove with PDP in categorically rejecting the construction of the GoI funded Highway along the holy cave of Amarnath Ji shrine in Kashmir. He made an appalling disclosure on the basis of information sought through the10 point RTI application filed by him recently.
Referring to the reply of Public Works (R&B) Department, Govt.of J&K No: PW(R&B)/Adm/RTI/04/ 2016 in response to his RTI application, Mr. Harsh Dev Singh disclosed that the Govt. of India had sanctioned 8 new Highways to the State of J&K assuring 100% funding for all of them. He said that out of these projects Highway No. 501 was announced by the GoI along the holy cave of Amarnath Ji shrine measuring 105 km in length linking Baltal-Panchtarni- Chandanwari-Pahalgam-Batakut-Martand-Khanabal in Kashmir. Expressing shock over the reply of the department to his question asking whether the State Govt. had refused the permission of the aforesaid Highway, he divulged that the State PWD admitted its refusal for construction and conveying NOC to MoRTH for declaration of said road as National Highway citing environmental reasons. “The entire area, especially from Pahalgam to Panjtarini is environmentally sensitive with highly fragile eco-system. The area remains cut -off for about 8-9 months in a year due to adverse climate conditions and heavy snowfall. The area has difficult topography and terrain and is mountainous with steep heights and passes. If the said track is developed as National Highway, it will not only devastate the scenic beauty of the world famous tourist destination ‘Pahalgam’ but will also melt the glaciers formed on such altitudes”, Harsh read the excerpts of the reply. Dubbing the reply as absurd and abominable, Mr. Singh wondered that how could the state govt fail to object to the construction of the other Highways in Kashmir with similar topography, terrain and climate conditions. He said that the reply emanated the obnoxious odours of the deep rooted conspiracy of the State government to scuttle the development of the revered shrine which attracted large number of devotees from all across the country.
Present in the press conference were Mr. Yash Paul Kundal State President Young Panthers, Mr. Gagan Pratap Gen. Secy Young Panthers and Mr. Parshotam Parihar State Secy PTU.
