Former Minister and senior Congress leader Raman Bhalla today said that that the treachery and deceit of the BJP-PDP is haunting Jammu people who reposed their unflinching faith and support to it with the hope that Jammu may perhaps get a better deal as during the days of its wilderness in the opposition, the BJP leaders were crying hoarse over discrimination and neglect. Former minister slammed BJP for pushing the State, especially the Jammu region, to backwards on all fronts during its misrule for over three years in partnership with the PDP.The roadmap drawn by the previous Congress government for development of the state and empowerment of the people got a huge dent in these three nightmarish years, resulting in development and administrative inertia, alarming increase in unemployment and poor implementation of various welfare schemes”, Bhalla said while addressing workers meeting at Delli Ward 55 in Gandhi Nagar Constituency organized by Dr Vijay Sharma. Prominent among those present on the occasion include Ex Corporator & Pcc Member Jai Singh, Ex Corporator & Pcc Member Satish Sharma, Pritam Bhagat, Sandeepn kuldip singh Chib, Parshotam khajuria, Sita Ram, Kamal Choudhary, Rajinder Singh Popi, Mohd Hussain, SC Khajuria, Kamal Saini, Gian Chand Sharma, Onkar Singh, Saudhghar Choudhary, Capt. He blamed the BJP for prevailing situation, saying the reactionary politics has done more harm to this region than any good. He said the youth have been hit the most, as their aspirations fell flat before because of nepotism and favouritism pursued by the anti-youth Government.
He referred to the jolt given to meritorious and talented educated youth of Jammu during various selections from time to time in the past three years and said realization has dawned among the people, especially the youth of Jammu, who have been pushed to the wall by the BJP.
Bhalla hoped the Governor’s administration will go for a course correction and concentrate on completing the developmental projects set in motion by the Congress Government. He said the BJP owes an explanation to the people of Jammu for failing and exploiting them emotionally.
He said Congress is the only answer to the problems confronted to the State and steering it to peace, progress and development.
Bhalla said the PDP and BJP owe apology to the people of Jammu and Kashmir for compromising their interests and creating unparalleled political, financial and security stalemate. Jammu and Kashmir is virtually at the cross roads of its history, as the two mandated parties kept personal interests above the larger interest of the people on every issue, be that development or governance, security or the political aspirations”, Bhalla said. As a consequence the public interest became causality, he said, adding that the helplessness being shown by PDP and the BJP after parting ways is like sprinkling salt on the injuries of their electors. He said the non-operational and dishonest alliance has left a lesson for the people to take their decisions with caution and wisdom for which the people of Jammu, Kashmir and Ladakh are known.Bhalla said the failed PDP-BJP experience has posed a big challenge for the Congress to restore peoples’ faith in parliamentary democracy that has been hugely eroded by the two parties.
