BJP State SC Morcha led by its State President Sh. Jagdish Bhagat today organized cleanliness programme under “Swachh Bharat Abhiyan” at Dr. Ambedkar Chowk in Jammu. In the programme, the statue/sculpture of founding father of Republic of India and Independent India’s first law & Justice Minister Bharat Ratna Dr. BR Ambedkar that is located at Dr. Ambedkar Chowk rotary was sanitized with milk and garlanded. Hundreds of people gathered in the programme to contribute their bit in cleanliness drive. They hailed Dr. Ambedkar over his contribution for waging a life-long struggle for a modern India free of caste and other prejudices, ensuring equal rights for women and weaker sections of the society. The programme was addressed by BJP State SC Morcha State President Jagdish Bhagat and BJP State Head IT & Social Media Jaidev Rajwal.
While addressing the gathering in the programme, State President SC Morcha Sh. Bhagat said that Dr. Ambedkar had made priceless role in the framing of the Indian Constitution and also threw light on his life journey and teachings he had imparted among countrymen. He further said that BR Ambedkar is honored for his role towards the upliftment of Dalits and strenuous struggle against untouchability and caste discrimination.
“Dr. Ambedkar emphasized on religious, gender and caste equality and also introduced the reservation system to create a social balance amongst the classes”, he added. Sh. Bhagat said that he is quite overwhelmed and extends his gratitude to BJP that has constructed “PanchTirth” in the country and abroad viz. Janam Bhumi at Mahu in Madhya Pradesh, Diksha Bhumi at Nagpur, Chainya Bhumi at Mumbai, Mahaparinirvan Bhumi in New Delhi and Shiksha Bhumi at London. He further said that same sort of sanitation programmes will be held every month in every district level where Dr. Ambedkar’s statues are installed.
While sharing his thoughts among addresses, BJP State Head IT & Social Media Jaidev Rajwal said that Dr. Ambedkar has done a lot for the country and it is the high time that we must follow his footsteps to make the nation free of all social stigmas. “Our founding father of constitution has advocated moving forward by taking all the citizens along without any discrimination on the basis of caste, creed or gender and we all must carry forward his legacy. The role of cleanliness in our lives plays a significant factor as it is said the cleanliness is next godliness”, Mr. Rajwal said. He further said that Dr. Ambedkar’s teachings and deeds need to be imparted among younger generations so that they can imbibe the sense of equality among all the communities.
