Former Minister and senior Congress leader Raman Bhalla on Friday lashed out at the BJP for yet again making false promises to people in its so called Vision Document for DDC polls. So far they have only befooled people with false promises,” Bhalla was addressing a public gathering in Kathua today in favour of Congress Candidate Anu Dogra. Prominent among those who addressed gathering on the occasion include , former MLC Th Balbir Singh, Rajnesh Sharma, Pankaj Dogra, Narinder Khajuria, Ravinder Pal Singh, KV Singh, Kulbir Singh Lucky, Madam Pushpa, Sarpanch Harbansh Singh, Nand Lal, Choudhary Satpal, Shoki Ram, Paramjeet Singh Pumma, Naresh Ram, Bachiter Singh, Arun Metha, Nardosh Sharma, Vikash Sharma, Vinay Kumar beside others.”Time has come to dislodge the anti-people and anti-farmer governments from power,” he added. Being the ruling party at the Centre and having secured heavy mandate in the elections from Jammu region, he blamed BJP for its total failure to address the genuine problems and concerns of the people. “The Government at the Centre and UT administration took several decisions against the wishes and aspirations and interests of the general people, taking advantage of the situation on account of Covid crisis, forcing the people to protest and come on roads, despite all odds. Accusing the BJP of disregarding the aspirations of the people of J&K and ignoring the burning issues of masses in J&K, former Minister said that the ruling party had failed to inspire millions of the new UT. The party had given wide publicity to public issues during 2019 elections with high hopes generated amongst various sections of society which eventually ended in smoke, said Bhalla. He added that the so called earlier Vision document had caused huge disappointment not only amongst the common masses but had also democratized the die-hard supporters of the BJP regime.
Reacting over BJP’s Vision Document for DDC polls promising 70,000 govt jobs, Bhalla said BJP playing politics of deceit and indulging in rhetoric. He said that not fulfilling the promise of providing 2 crore jobs annually is enough to prove the lies of its leadership. He said that the Prime Minister Narendra Modi and his colleagues had made tall promises of creating 2 crore jobs per year before the Lok Sabha polls of 2014 but even after more than six years they are unable to create employment opportunities for lakhs of unemployed youth. He said that people have understood the game plan of the BJP which is only to hoodwink the masses and doing nothing substantial on ground. He said that BJP is specialized in only raking up emotive issues and diverting the attention of the people from real issue in a bid to hide its failures and lies. He strongly maintained that Vision Document is nothing but bundle of lies as fate of earlier promises is already in public domain which has become more of a laughing stock as BJP only believes in saying and never think of doing it.
People of Jammu region expected that BJP would address and redress the grievances of the people of J&K and announce measures to mitigate their sufferings, Bhalla said. “Nothing of the sort happened. The self aggrandizing BJP leadership, as usual, indulged in incessant chest thumping making lofty claims over its development agenda which however remained elusive on the ground. With a complete mismatch between its rhetoric and ground delivery, the statements of its leaders merely evoked cynicism rather than any kind of appreciation. The BJP leaders failed to satisfy the people over the newly enacted domicile law and recruitment rules. The SRO-202 which had generated a lot of heat in the new UT failed to find a mention in the statements of the top BJP leaders despite assurances of its revocation given in the past by its local leaders. The central leadership was expected to make an announcement with regard to growing public anger against multiple Toll Plazas installed in and around Jammu which unfortunately did not fructify. The announcement with regard to restoration of 4G connectivity was another expectation of the people which too ended in a fiasco. The youth, in particular, was the most disappointed lot as not a word about SRO-202 revocation or 4G connectivity or mass promotion was uttered by the central leadership which runs the state of affairs in J&K.
Former Minister further alleged that rising unemployment, falling economy and students unrest, are the major achievements of the BJP Government. He said during BJP’s tenure everything is getting lost like employment avenues, water from handpumps, sugar from ration depots and many more. He further said due to anti-youth policies of BJP Govt, youth of the country and especially J&K have suffered the worst as no new employment opportunity was provided .Bhalla today slammed BJP Govt for acting as a mute spectator to the sufferings of the people from Jammu and Kashmir. He said that country is witnessing all-time low economic growth and employment rate has dipped to an all-time low. He alleged that the Centre did not take any effective step to improve the economic situation of the country. He said that all sections of society are facing difficulties. All major sectors like manufacturing, trade, construction, education, health, information technology, transport, and accommodation and restaurant have failed to pickup under BJP rule. The BJP manifesto had promised to ensure a peaceful and secure environment, where there is no place for either the perpetrators or exploiters of fear but nothing was done also in this regard also.
Seeking the restoration of statehood to Jammu and Kashmir, Bhalla said the Congressmen are on the roads to convey the voice of the people to Union Govt as the “undemocratic and unconstitutional” steps taken by the Centre left them “deeply hurt”. “People are scared to open their voice for their rights. This is the situation which has been thrust on them after this beautiful state was dismantled,” he said.
He ridiculed the loud chest thumping by BJP leadership over the self claimed development in J&K by them in their election campaigns for drawing political capital out of the same.Having failed to deliver when the reins of power lay in your own hands, you are now indulging in theatrics by claiming credit for fake development only to hoodwink the people on the eve of elections” said Bhalla.“The fact remains that BJP has played treachery upon the people of Jammu. It has betrayed the collective sentiment of Dogras. It took a U-turn on not only its election promises but its core fundamentals for power sake.
It indulged in declamatory, bombastic talks during elections only to befool them for vote politics. The people have recognized the real character of its leaders and no facade of deceptive posturing can now disguise their real intents”, said Bhalla.
Bhalla ridiculed BJP’s aggression in projecting the issues of West Pak Refugees, IB and LoC residents besides raising the demands for early completion of AIIMS, five Medical Colleges, IIT and IIM, smart cities besides four laning of roads and Highways when out of power.Having been exposed for their opportunistic politics, the recent deceptive statements of BJP and its sensational rants could never impress the people of Jammu region who were eagerly awaiting for the ensuing elections, said Bhalla. He appealed the people to support and strengthen Congress Party which alone could relax the hurt psyche of Jammu people. He said ongoing election process has provided a golden opportunity to the people to defeat evil designs of vested interests. There is an urgent need for the people of Jammu and Kashmir to stand united against those who consistently failed to address sentiments and aspirations of people of J&K. Former Minister said that people should vote for Congress party which has track record of rendering public service in past despite all heavy odds. He said DDC elections imperative for Jammu and Kashmir for its socio- political survival as well as for equitable and need based development at gross roots level. He cautioned the people against nefarious designs of forces who want to divide communities to satiate their self-designed political agenda. He urged the people to stand guard like a rock to protect centuries old traditions of brotherhood, communal harmony and secularism which are the hallmark of Jammu and Kashmir’s composite and pluralistic ethos.
