Jammu, APR 01:
Accusing the BJP govt of cheating the unemployed educated youth during elections in the name of employment, a strong contingent of Panther activists led by Mr. Harsh Dev Singh Chairman-JKNPP staged a thunderous protest demonstration in Jammu today. While torching the effigy of the govt, the angry protesters raised slogans seeking justice for the CISF, BSF aspirants sitting on protest for their genuine demands.
Speaking to the media, Mr. Harsh Dev Singh said that CISF and BSF aspirants had been languishing on roads outside the BJP head quarters in Trikuta Nagar for more than two months now seeking their absorption in paramilitary forces.“ No one has paid heed to their genuine demands. The BJP has only deceived them with false assurances for its political interests. Following the issuance of notification for the recruitment of 1356 constables in CISF and BSF in 2018, several thousands of aspirants from J&K had applied for the posts. When the aspirants raised their voice to increase the number of advertised posts, the BJP leadership assured the aspirants if they voted in favour of BJP in DDC elections the govt would further add 2,000 posts to the existing vacancies. But nothing of that sort happened. The deceitful BJP after receiving huge mandate from them in the elections only abandoned the youth like disposables”, Harsh regretted.
Deploring the policy of coercion and intimidation being adopted under the Saffron rule, Mr. Harsh Dev Singh condemned the incident when the govt used police force to disperse the protesting aspirants in ruthless manner. He said that the aspirants who had been waiting for their selection for the last three years were subjected to physical assault and heinous exploitation. This is obnoxious and intolerable. What happened to your DDC elections manifesto promising 70000 jobs with hundred percent reservation for locals? Why the CSF/ BSF aspirants who had completed all the rounds of recruitment process were made to reel under hot sun, chilly nights and thunder showers? They voted for you. They did everything which you asked them to do. How could you be so callous and averse to the woes of the youth who had ascended you to power? Policy of suppression, duplicity and deceit would no more work wonders for you. You shall be decimated and blown to smithereens by the young blood, Harsh warned BJP.
Highlighting the plight of all unemployed and underemployed educated youth of J&K, Mr. Harsh Dev Singh vociferously raised the issues of thousand of daily wagers sitting on strike besides contractual teachers/ lecturers, SPOs, NYCs/ NYVs, ASHA and Anganwadi workers, NHM employees, MGNREGA employees, ReK aspirants besides the ousted employees of H&ME Deptt and subject specific teachers appointed under SMAGRA etc who had come to roads seeking fulfillment of election time commitments made to them by the BJP. “Panthers shall relentlessly agitate and protest until the cause of youth is taken to its logical conclusion. We stand shoulder to shoulder and toe to toe with the protesting youth. Don’t test our patience. Don’t allow the simmering anger of youth to erupt like a volcano. You will be simply wiped out in the imminent catastrophe”, cautioned Harsh.
