A meeting of social activists and retired officers of Government, Banks and Public Sector Undertakings was conducted at BJP headquarters, Trikutanagar Jammu today. The meeting was presided over by Ashwani Kumar Chrungoo, BJP State Spokesman on Kashmir Affairs. The meeting among others was attended by S.P.Sharma, T.B.Kaul, A.K.Bhat, Vijay Gupta and R.J.Kachroo. The meeting discussed the plan to involve the retired people from the Banks, Govt and PSUs into the ideological fold of BJP. As the ideological challenges are manifold, so is the need for involvement of people with social consciousness with the Bhartiya Janata Party under the leadership of PM Narendra Modi.
Rajiv Sharma, an NRI based in Copenhagen-Denmark, who basically belongs to Jammu and is the son of the soil, also joined the discussion along with Kulbhushan Mhotra, Incharge-Documentation and Library. Rajiv Sharma is a member of the NRI Team that is presently in India to campaign for the PM Narendra Modi in Varanasi parliamentary constituency. Naresh Verma, President, BJP Pradesh OBC Morcha also participated in the strategy meeting.
Ashwani Kumar Chrungoo, in his speech said that the Bhartiya Janata Party besides being a political party is also a social movement. The fundamentals of the party’s ideology have social orientation. BJP treats social cohesion, ideological commitment, national security, cultural nationalism and development for all as the core issues that need deep penetration into the grass root level within the society. All sections of the social base have their importance and role.
It is after a great struggle by the party that the BJP has occupied the centre stage of the national polity and discourse. Our thrust areas have by and large covered a large ground but the Party need to maintain its lead in all matters of public good and welfare. The J&K state has been discriminated over the last 72 years due to overemphasis on issues like the bogey of secessionism and special status, 1953 position and autonomy, so-called Azadi and Nizame-Mustafa. Enough but precious time has already been lost.
Article 370 and Article 35A have created a state within the state in Jammu & Kashmir. The deserving sections of the society have been neglected due to these absurd laws that have left people lurking with the fear of losing their citizenship.
The arbitrary and anti-fundamental rights environs have been created to benefit a few politicians who would love to shy away from the issues of development, education, health issues, technical advancement, entrepreneurship and environment in the state.
These Articles created a favourable pitch for the political class to raise passions of the gullible over the last seventy years. The sentiments linked to these provisions were milked to garner votes and assure seat of power perpetually.
The Kashmir centric leadership caused a fear psychosis among the population due to these sentiments to make their politics overrun the genuinely connected issues of the public welfare.
BJP is poised to emerge as a spectacle in these elections to set aside the bogey of secessionist pleas leading to terrorism, death and destruction. The walls of hatred will have to fall with the onset of the new government in May 2019 to write a new history regarding the Jammu and Kashmir state. We ask our cadres to get ready to greet the welcome change in the near future that will positively alter fortune of our state under the able leadership of Narendra Modi.
