Senior Congress leader, Rajya Sabha MP, and AICC member Rajiv Shukla on Thursday cautioned the people against the dangerous gameplan of the BJP for encouraging anti-national and separatist leaders for petty political gains.
“BJP is playing with the fire in Jammu and Kashmir by hobnobbing with separatists and anti-national elements to defeat the Congress and the National Conference in the elections”, Mr. Shukla said while addressing a press conference at Jammu.
“The upcoming elections in Jammu and Kashmir are of utmost importance, with repercussions that will be felt across the entire country”, the Congress leader said.
“The people of J&K have an opportunity to send a strong and positive message through these elections” he appealed to the people.
The BJP and the Central government are engaged in a dangerous nexus with separatist elements in the region. Their actions appear to be aimed at demoralizing nationalist forces like the National Conference (NC) and the Congress.
“By supporting separatists to defeat the NC and Congress, the BJP is playing with fire in J&K. We caution the people of Jammu and Kashmir that the Centre’s true agenda is to weaken nationalist parties by aligning with anti-national elements”, he said.
“Engaging in political rivalry does not mean one should stoop to supporting separatists or other divisive forces. This betrayal exposes the BJP’s double standards. While they claim to stand for national unity, their actions here prove otherwise”, Mr. Shukla said.
Lambasting BJP for not granting statehood to J&K, Mr Shukla said, “Unfortunately, the promise of restoring statehood has been betrayed by the current government. The historic state of Jammu and Kashmir deserves statehood without further delay, and this continued denial is an injustice to its people”.
“BJP’s so-called Hindu face has also been exposed, as seen in the Triputa Balaji Parasad controversy”, he said, adding, “The Prime Minister and the Home Minister have maintained a criminal silence on this sensitive issue, revealing their disregard for the emotions and religious sentiments of the people”.
“In Andhra Pradesh, the previous regime had aligned itself with the BJP”, he said.
“The BJP shamelessly manipulates Hinduism for political gains. The silence of their leaders over the Parasad issue at Triputi Balaji is a glaring example of their hypocrisy. The residents of Ayodhya have already taught them a lesson”, he said.
“The BJP is pushing Jammu and Kashmir deeper into crisis. The introduction of smart meters has caused an unprecedented hike in power tariffs, hitting the common people hard”, he said, adding, “Outsider contractors, many of whom are either affiliated with the BJP or hail from Gujarat, are being awarded contracts, sidelining local workers”.
Pointing toward a spike in terror activities in Jammu province, he said, asked” Where is the so-called normalcy in Jammu and Kashmir? Militancy is spreading into the Jammu region”.
“The corruption has crossed all limits, unemployment remains high, and development has come to a standstill. There is no significant industrial growth, particularly in Jammu”, he observed, adding, “Additionally, the imposition of toll tax in the region is another example of how the BJP is exploiting the people. The Congress, in contrast, has always ensured that substantial funds were allocated for the development of Jammu and Kashmir during its tenure”.
“As we head into the final phases of the elections, we are receiving encouraging feedback from the ground. I am confident that the National Conference-Congress alliance will form the next government in Jammu and Kashmir, and we will restore both development and dignity to this historic state”, Mr Shukla said.
Senior Congress leader and All India Congress Committee (AICC) incharge J&K, Bharatsinh Solanki, today exuded confidence that the Congress-NC coalition is set to achieve a landslide victory in Jammu and Kashmir, surpassing other parties in popularity.
Addressing a press conference, Mr. Solanki attributed the BJP’s desperation to their dwindling fortunes in the state. “The BJP has deployed its top leaders, including the Prime Minister, Home Minister, Defence Minister, and UP Chief Minister, to desperately cling to power by any means necessary.” He emphasized that this desperation stems from the BJP’s awareness of their dwindling popularity.
Mr. Solanki exposed BJP’s hidden agenda including exploiting J&K’s natural resources and allowing big businesses to loot the state.
“This startling revelation has raised concerns among J&K’s citizens, who will not tolerate any compromise on their state’s sovereignty and economic well-being.”, he said.
He asserted that the people of J&K will not be swayed by BJP’s tactics and will teach the Saffron Party a lesson for its misdeeds during the last 10 years in Jammu and Kashmir.
Solanki announced that Congress leader Rahul Gandhi will address two rallies on September 27, while party leader Priyanka Gandhi will also address rallies on September 28.
“The people of J&K will decide their own future and they will reject BJP and its deceitful tactics”, he said
“We’ve presented a chargesheet, but BJP leaders have failed to respond, effectively acknowledging the allegations against them”, he pointed out.
Lambasting the BJP for betraying the people of Jammu and Kashmir, he asked, “On what grounds do they now seek votes from the people? BJP has reneged on its 2014 promises”.
“The people of J&K will reject BJP’s tactics. Congress and NC are united in our determination to serve J&K’s interests”, he said.
Solanki questioned BJP’s delivery to J&K since the Parliament elections, asking:
– What has BJP delivered to J&K since then?
– What additional packages have they offered?
– Why have they failed to respond to the chargesheet presented by Congress?
Solanki lambasted BJP for betraying the people of Jammu and Kashmir, reneging on its 2014 promises. “On what grounds do they now seek votes from the people?” He emphasized that BJP’s broken promises have eroded trust among the people.
Mr. Solanki asserted that Congress and NC are united in their determination to serve J&K’s interests. “Congress leader Rahul Gandhi remains committed to protecting the wishes and aspirations of J&K’s people.” He emphasized that Congress will prioritize the state’s emotional integration and economic empowerment.
Solanki condemned BJP Lok Sabha member Kangna Ranout’s statement demanding the implementation of three farm laws previously repealed by the government. “This statement exposes BJP’s anti-farmers mindset and disregard for the welfare of J&K’s agricultural sector.”
Solanki expressed concern over BJP’s silence on the Darbar Move issue, which promotes emotional integration and economic empowerment in J&K. “Their silence is deafening, and we demand answers.”
“As the state prepares for a new government, the people will not be swayed by BJP’s tactics. Congress and NC remain united in their determination to serve J&K’s interests, prioritizing the state’s sovereignty, economic well-being, and emotional integration”, he said.
