In a withering attack against BJP government at the centre, Mula Ram former Minister and Vice President JKPCC on Monday termed unprecedented inflation caused due to failure of union government as more deadly than the pandemic COVID-19.
The senior Congress leader was leading a huge protest rally here at Jammu’s outskirts against the sky-rocketing inflation caused due to directionless policies of BJP which have hiked prices of petroleum products including household gas breaking all the previous records besides proposing property tax in the UT, which if comes into existence, will break the backbone of common people. The protest was organized by Shiv Dev Singh, former MLA which was led by Mula Ram, former minister against inflation, property tax and for seeking back the statehood of J&K. Uday Bhanu Chib, President JKPYC, Manmohan Singh General Secretary JKPCC, Sunny Parihar, Sashi Secretary JKPCC, Romal Singh, Vijay Sharma Block President and Shivraj also joined the protest.
Taking a jibe at the BJP leadership, Mula Ram said that those having expertise in ‘dividing society to rule’ have mistakenly united the same against their party by toeing the line which is anti-people and proving to be more dangerous than the fatal coronavirus. He said that BJP has steered the country to complete mess by its visionless and myopic misdeeds that it will take long time to bring India back on tracks.
Shiv Dev Singh said that Congress will continue its aggression against BJP government until and unless J&K will not get back its statehood. He said that BJP has committed biggest crime by denigrating J&K’s stature to Union Territory. He also opposed the proposed property tax terming it as a Jazia on the people of trouble-torn region, who have been subjected to multidimensional miseries by the hopeless government at the center and in the UT.
Mocking at the BJP leadership, Shiv Dev Singh said that incessant hike in petroleum product prices is not due to price fluctuations in the international market but it is the result of dearth of think-tank in the government leading to growing anxiety in top hierarchy of Saffron party which seemingly is novice to the economic intricacies related to petrol, diesel and LPG prices, and is of the view that by making profit out of fuel prices they can clean the mess which they have created.
