Bharatiya Janata Yuva Morcha (BJYM), Jammu & Kashmir, under the leadership of its President Arun Prabhat, organized an inspirational programme on National Voters’ Day at party headquarters, Trikuta Nagar, Jammu.
Ashok Koul, General Secretary (Organization), BJP Jammu & Kashmir, graced the programme as the Chief Guest and key speaker. The event aimed at strengthening democratic values and encouraging youth participation in the electoral process witnessed enthusiastic participation from hundreds of youngsters, including first-time voters and BJYM activists.
Addressing the gathering, Ashok Koul laid strong emphasis on the historic role of youth in safeguarding and strengthening India’s democratic ethos, calling India not only the world’s largest democracy but also the Mother of Democracy, as highlighted by Hon’ble Prime Minister Narendra Modi in his recent letter on National Voters’ Day.
Referring to the Prime Minister’s message, Koul said that voting is a sacred constitutional right and a moral responsibility, symbolized by the inked finger which represents honour, participation, and commitment to the nation. He reminded the youth that India’s democratic journey, which began with the first General Elections in 1951–52, stands as a global example of public participation despite immense geographical and logistical challenges.
Ashok Koul urged first-time voters to take pride in their role as Bhagidars in Bharat’s development journey, stressing that active participation in elections is essential for realizing the vision of Viksit Bharat by 2047. He further echoed the Prime Minister’s emphasis on greater participation of Nari Shakti, stating that empowered and politically aware women are vital for an inclusive and progressive democracy. He called upon youngsters to act as ambassadors of voter awareness through platforms like Mera Yuva Bharat, spreading democratic consciousness at the grassroots.
Arun Prabhat paid rich tribute to the makers of the Indian Constitution, describing it as the guiding light of the nation’s democratic framework. He encouraged the youth to actively exercise their franchise, asserting that voting is not merely a constitutional right but also a sacred civic duty that strengthens democratic institutions. He urged first-time voters to remain informed, aware, and committed to ethical participation in elections. In his concluding remarks, he appealed to youngsters to work selflessly for social upliftment and national development, emphasizing that the youth power of India is the strongest pillar and key contributor to Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s vision of Viksit, Atmanirbhar Bharat by 2047.
Prominent BJYM leaders including Kanav Sharma, Monu Slathia, Rohit Sharma, Luvdeval Sharma, Dheeraj Arora, Shubam Manhas, Priyanka Gupta, Sagar Kotwal, Er. Rohit Manhas, and others were present on the occasion.
