Bharatiye Janta Yuva Morch today organised awareness camp-cum- cleanliness drive at Surya Putri Tawi during Sakh Visarjan on occasion of Maha Navmi in Jammu.
The drive was organised under the leadership of BJYM president Arun Singh Parbahat in which they aware devotees who performed Sakh visarjan on Maha Navmi for not throwing polythene in Tawi.
Speaking on the occasion, BJYM president said” Cleanliness has been a major problem in Jammu and Kashmir, as despite four years of the Swachh Bharat Abhiyan, the state has not been able to make considerable progress in the waste management front. “In Jammu, many households and shopkeepers were provided with two colour-coded dustbins in 2017 to encourage waste segregation, but not much progress has been made in both sensitising people to segregate waste, or managing waste collection and disposal properly, he said.
He added, “BJYM is hopeful that the campaign will bring forward the larger issues related to waste management in the state, and make people aware of what roles they can play to ensure a waste free Jammu and Kashmir.
Meanwhile, an awareness camp on COVID-19 was also organised in which the workers of BJYM made awareness among the masses about this deadly diseases and asked them to wear mask and follow proper instructions told by government of India .
