Blackberry is trying really hard to keep its users hooked to its services and products. The company has been working on a desktop version of BBM and has also made some beta releases for the same. However, now it seems that the company is all set to launch a stable beta version of BBM Desktop.
On its official website the company explains what all the BBM users will get in the next update and one of the main highlight of the changelog is the BBm Desktop beta.
The company explains that everyone will not get the version. The users who will notice an icon in the Me tab will be able to access the beta version. The first stable beta version of BBM Desktop will enable the users to perform actions like view, search and find different stuff.
The users will be able to choose to view all their chats in a list form. They can also search for any specific conversation using the search bar. Along with this, they can also search a new contact in order to start a fresh conversation. Lastly, they will also be able to view broadcast messages from Channels they have subscribed to.
Recently, the Canadian manufacturer sued Facebook, WhatsApp and Instagram for “patent infringement”. The company accused Facebook for suing using technology in its popular instant messaging applications.
Blackberry said that apps like Facebook, Instagram and WhatsApp are using messaging capabilities that were first designed by BlackBerry. In a statement the company said, “We have a strong claim that Facebook has infringed on our intellectual property, and after several years of dialogue, we also have an obligation to our shareholders to pursue appropriate legal remedies.”
