Blankets distributed among very poor families of villages located on IB Pragwal

We The Humans Forum for Nature and Mankind in collaboration with Swasthya Evam Shiksha Charitable Trust New Delhi, today, distributed extreme weather blankets among very poor families hailing from different villages viz., Marh Pragwal, Phagwari, Pindi, Gurah Manhasa, Channi Tawi, Nai Basti Sarwal and village Rajpura falling near International Border.

Eleven very poor families from these villages were identified by the local representatives of We The Humans, a registered Public Charitable Trust and were provided with extreme weather blankets to save themselves from harsh cold wave. Apart from Retd. Principal Secretary Law K Y S Manhas Vice Chairman of the Executive Body, Mohinder Kumar founder member, A K Verma Organising Secretary, Asiya Publicity Secretary, Sanna Office Secretary of We The Humans, Raghuveer Singh, Pawan Singh Lambardar, Mohinder Singh Sarpanch and other prominent villagers were present in the function organised at Pargwal Panchayat Pindi.
KYS Manhas Vice Chairman of We The Humans exhorted thr rural people to take full care of hygiene and cleanliness around their living places and to maintain the fauna and of their area. K Y S Manhas asked the rural people to be vigilfull about any type of encroachments on water bodies and also to contribute towards nature by planting more number of trees. Manhas appealed Manoj Sinha Lt. Governor of J&K UT to declare river chenab banks at Pargwal ad protected Bird Sanctuary as hundreds of species of birds from all over the world migrate during winters to this part of Jammu and exhibit their charm.
The area can be developed as an attracting point for domestic as well as international tourists. Mohinder Kumar informed that We The Humans have been working since last three years to restore degraded values of humanity and to restore damages caused to Nature by human greed under the garb of technological advancement and spree of unsustainable development. Mohinder Kumar asked the rural population to avoid single use plastic fully especially in & around their vicinity as single use plastics has devastating effect for otherwise better environment of rural areas which is also getting vitiated due to rampant use of single use plastic goods like packaged water plastic bottles, cooking oil bottles, plastic bags, plastic disposables and other single use plastic material.
Asiya also addressed the gathering and asked people to avoid excessive usage of toxic chemical pesticides and fertilizers in their agricultural fields, which not only have hazardous effect on usersy & consumers’ health but also have toxic effects upon soil and groundwater. Pawan singh appreciated the role of We The Humans for spreading awareness about various environmental issues and also making sincere efforts to ameliorate sufferings of very poor and needy people. Pawan singh also highlighted the role of We The Humans during Covid19 pandemic wherein We The Humans distributed free ration and covid hygiene kits among more than 2500 families.
