As part of Governments ambitious Jan Abhiyan programme, the Block Divas or Youm-e-Block was today observed with great enthusiasm across all the districts of Kashmir division.
On the occasion, the respective District Administrations organised grievance redressal camps besides other related events at Block Headquarters and at different locations of the district to listen to the public issues, grievances and raise awareness on various Centrally Sponsored Schemes (CSSs) meant for welfare of youth, farmers and others.
The visiting officers besides assessing the progress of developmental works being executed in different sectors also ensured deliverance of services to the masses at their door steps to strengthen grassroots level democracy.
At Budgam: The District Development Commissioner (DDC) Budgam, Shahbaz Ahmed Mirza today convened a public outreach cum interaction programme at District Headquarter Budgam.
People from different areas of block Budgam attended the programme and put forth their issues for early redressal.
Speaking on the occasion, the DDC assured all the deputations and individuals that whatever issues, demands they have put forth and registered will be seriously taken note of.
During the daylong programme, the DDC took status of progress made on issues raised during the earlier such public interaction programmes. He directed concerned authorities to pace up their activities in ensuring timely completion of all prioritized works and projects mainly relating to basic issues of drinking water facility, improvement of roads, power transmission lines as well as basic health care.
The day long programme was also attended, CMO Budgam, all Ex. Engineers, DEPO Budgam and others concerned.
Similar programmes under the Block Diwas Initiative were also held at SDM office Khansahab, Beerwah and Chadoora.
At Ganderbal: As part of Block Diwas initiative, the Deputy Commissioner (DC) Ganderbal, Krittika Jyotsna today convened a mega public outreach cum interaction programme at Kangan Sub-Division.
Thousands of local people and PRIs hailing from different areas of Kangan attended the darbar and apprised the DC of their genuine issues and other issues of public importance.
The DC after giving patient hearing to the public assured of resolving all the genuine issues in a time bound manner.
Regarding the employment of locals in the Zojila Tunnel project, the DC said SDM Kangan is already directed to hold camp in this regard and urged upon local unemployed youth to register themselves during camp so that the list is forwarded to the Zojila Tunnel project authorities.
On Covid vaccination, the DC said that the top most priority of the district administration is to defeat the Corona Virus and in this regard over 60 sites have been identified for vaccination in the district. She also appealed to the locals to get vaccinated as soon as possible and follow covid protocol vigorously.
She also said that all service providers of the district shall be vaccinated before the commencement of Annual Shri Amarnathji Yatra.
The DC further added that the District Administration is ensuring to provide all facilities to the people at their doorsteps especially to the people living in far flung areas and under tough topography and in this regard necessary instructions have already been given to line departments.
The daylong programme was attended by SSP Ganderbal, Suhail Munawar Mir, ADC Ganderbal, Farooq Ahmad Baba, SDM Kangan, CAO, ARTO and other concerned.
DDC members, BDC chairpersons and Sarpanchs were also present on the occasion.
Similar programmes under Block Diwas initiative were also held at other identified places of the district.
At Shopian: The Block Diwas was today organized with great enthusiasm at Keller, Shopian during which a large number of people from Keller and its adjoining areas participated and projected their demands, issues pertaining to their respective areas to the visiting government functionaries etc.
On the occasion, the District Development Commissioner (DDC) Shopian, Sachin Kumar Vaishya, listened to the people patiently. He redressed most of the grievances on the spot and rest were forwarded to the concerned quarters for early resolution.
The DDC said that the genuine demands and issues raised so far would be resolved on priority. He appealed people to become active participants and come forward so that the issues of daily importance are redressed in the minimum possible time.
The DDC directed PDD, PHE and Health functionaries to provide better services to the people of the area at an earliest and leave no stone unturned in fulfilling the genuine demands of the people who have great expectations with the Govt.
He reiterated his commitment to provide an accessible, acceptable and responsive Administration and exhorted upon the officers to develop the novel methods of governance and adopt best practices in public outreach programmes.
The DDC during the diwas was accompanied by Senior Superintendent of Police, Shopian, Amrit Paul Singh, Tehsildar Keller, District Social Welfare Officer, BDO Keller, BMO Keller besides other Officers and Officials of the district.
At Anantnag: As part of Block Diwas initiative, the Deputy Commissioner (DC) Anantnag, Dr. Piyush Singla today convened a public darbar at Larkipora, here.
On the occasion, the elected public representatives besides a number of public delegations and individuals apprised the DC of their issues, grievances and demands.
Dr. Singla patiently listened to all of them and issued on spot directions to the concerned for redressal of genuine grievances. He also assured them to project other non-jurisdictional issues before higher authorities.
The DC directed the officials to redress all grievances related to basic services besides ensuring saturation of beneficiary oriented schemes like social security pensions, Sehat/ Golden cards, etc.
He also directed SDM Dooru to monitor the grievances pertaining to his jurisdiction with special thrust on quality response.
The darbar was attended by Chairman MC Dooru, BDC Chairperson Shahabad, CPO, SE PDD, SDM Dooru, BDOs Shahabad and Verinag and other concerned officers of line departments besides PRI members and a large number of local people and other delegations.
Later, the DC, accompanied by ADC(S) visited the toll post Lower Munda and directed the health officers to augment their infrastructure and logistics as a proactive measure in the wake of a looming fresh Covid-19 wave and the evident surge in Covid cases.
While praising the efforts of the health and police officials in fighting the pandemic, he impressed upon them to rise to the occasion and assured them of full support from district administration.
Meanwhile, Dr. Singla advised the general public not to lower the guard against the pandemic and to strictly adhere to all Covid SOPs and guidelines. He also stressed the concerned officers to disseminate the necessary awareness among the masses in this regard.
At Kulgam: To take firsthand appraisal of public grievances and issues, the Deputy Commissioner (DC) Kulgam, Dr. Bilal Mohi-Ud-Din Bhat today presided over public darbar at Community Hall D.H.Pora, here.
The program witnessed immense participation of locals and PRIs from all halqas of D.H.Pora, Manzgam, D.K.Marg blocks who apprised the DC of their grievances and other developmental needs of their respective areas.
The DC after giving patient hearing to the public assured them of quality disposal of genuine issues in a time bound manner. He also gave on spot directions for redressal of many issues of urgent nature.
He further added that District Administration is ensuring to provide better facilities to the people to mitigate their grievances and resolve all their genuine issues in a time bound manner.
On the occasion, the DC appealed to people to register for Covid vaccination and act as responsible citizens vis-à-vis mitigation of Covid pandemic.
Among others, DDC Member Jameela Chowdhary, ACD, Tehsildar, BMO, and Officers from all other line departments besides PRI members participated in the programme.
Similar programmes under Block Diwas initiative were also held at Block Devsar, where Additional Development Commissioner, Showkat Ahmad Rather listened to public issues and grievances.
At block Kulgam, Assistant Commissioner Revenue, Mir Imtiyaz Ul -Aziz listened to issues and grievances of the public for redressal.
On the occasion hearing aids and wheelchairs were distributed among the beneficiaries.
At Bandipora: The Block Diwas programme was observed in all the blocks of the district during which officers listened to public issues, grievances and demands.
The Deputy Commissioner (DC) Bandipora, Dr Owais Ahmad attended the Block Diwas at Mini Secretariat Bandipora and held Public Grievance Camp. He interacted with the public besides reviewing the developmental activities taking place in the block.
Dozens of delegations including members of District Development Councils, BDC chairpersons and other members of Panchayat Raj Institutions besides scores of individuals called on the DC and apprised him about the problems being faced by them in day to day life.
While responding to public grievances, the DC directed the Rural Development Department to complete the work on Ayatmulla School Building near Panchayat Ghar and asked CEO Bandipora to monitor the works. He also asked RDD officers to complete work on Middle School Kulhama Nadihal within one month.
Dr Owais also directed DFO Bandipora to allow local youth to play in forest Playfield Chitternar with certain regulations. He also directed JKERA to expedite work on Ajas-Hajin road so that the same is completed at an earliest. He also directed blacktop and macadamisation of several roads on priority this year.
The citizens raised the issue of growing drug menace and called for joint efforts to eradicate this menace. The DC alongwith SSP Bandipora urged the people to cooperate with the law enforcing agencies in the fight against drug menace.
The delegations raised several other issues of their respective areas.
The DC after giving patient hearing to the delegations, he passed on-spot directions for redressal of grievances, issues while several committees and joint teams were constituted for the same during the program.
Senior Superintendent of Police Muhammad Zahid, Additional District Development Commissioner, Afsar Ali Khan, Joint Director Planning Imtiyaz Ahmad, Assistant Commissioner Development Abdul Rashid Dass and other senior officers of the district were present on the occasion.
At Kupwara: The Deputy Commissioner (DC) Kupwara, Imam Din today stressed upon the Officers and field functionaries of district Kupwara to play a proactive role in resolving developmental issues of the public in a time bound manner.
The Deputy Commissioner was addressing a Block Diwas programme held at SDM Office, Sogam, today. DDC member, Nasir Ahmad, SSP Kupwara, Dr. G V Sandeep, SDM Lolab, PRIs and officers attended the programme.
On the occasion, the DC directed the concerned officers to work for removal of encroachment of every kind in their respective jurisdictions. He urged upon all stakeholders for cooperation in eradication of drug menace so that youth of the district is saved.
Earlier, DDC member and other public representatives projected the issues and demands pertaining to their respective areas before the Deputy Commissioner.
The Deputy Commissioner heard them and assured of timely redressal of their grievances.
He stressed upon the concerned officers to streamline the process of redressal of public grievances in a time bound manner. He directed them to intensify the inspections in local schools to ensure attendance of teachers. He also directed the concerned officers for revalidation of MGNREGA cards to ensure timely delivery of benefits to the deserving people.
In a separate visit, the Deputy Commissioner inspected the Badibera Bridge, one pier of which was damaged in recent flash floods. He directed the concerned Engineers for instant repairs of the bridge for smooth traffic movement.
In Handwara subdivision, Block Diwas programme was held at BDO office Langate which was presided over by Additional Deputy Commissioner, Handwara, Nazir Ahmad Mir. BDC Chairman Showkat Ahmad Pandit, PRIs and officers attended the programme.
Block Divas programme was also held at Chitterkote in Teetwal block of Karnah subdivision under the chairmanship of Tehsildar, Karnah. BDC Chairperson, Nishada Parveen, PRIs and officers of tehsil Administration attended the programme.
On the occasion 57 different certificates were issued among the beneficiaries on the spot by Tehsildar. These certificates include 15 domicile, 30 pahari speaking, 7 RBA and 5 ST certificates.
Block Diwas programme was also held at Manwan in Awoora block of Kupwara tehsil. Tehsildar Kupwara, Javid Ahmad presided the programme. PRIs and Officers of the Administration attended the programme.
On the occasion, the Tehsildar, BDO and other officers gave detailed awareness regarding various developmental schemes to the people.
