Due to the Tobacco Causes more than 8 million deaths in every year in the world and smokers were more likely to development severe diseases with covid-19 compared to non smokers & to promote the traditional culture of J&K &, Bhartiya Lok Sangeet Kala Sansthan in close coordination with Directorate of Social welfare department Jammu & Kashmir Govt. , and Sangam Tru Art Production mounts special awareness campaign on “No Tobacco Week” presented 62nd Friday Dogri Musical Concert ” Nahi Piyan Tamaku Balma” during Quarantine Time on the theme of this year “Commit to Quit “at Rehearsal Hall , Durga Bhawan Janipur, Jammu to aware the masses the ill effects of the Tabacco products . The Program was inaugurated by the Chief Guest Sh.V.K.Magotra, former Regional Director, Directorate of Field Publicity, Ministry of Information and Broadcasting, Government of India. Among the Guest of Honors present were, Dr. Tara Singh Charak, Former Deputy Director , Health Department J&K Government, Dr. Anju Kumari Dogra, Health Department Jammu & Sh.R.P.Amla, Assisted the Concert. The day commemorated as well with sole aim of rejuvenating the traditional , Primitive Folk, Art, Culture of J&K Region in particular and Indian nation in general awareness items. The Specially items prepared on the theme “Nasha Nai Kario Munde Kureio” , ” Bacho Bacho Tobacoo Kola Bacho”,”Nai Pee Shraban”, “Bari Kharab Chutki”, “Nahin Piya Tobacco Balma” , Nukkad, Skits , Songs and Dances were presented to aware the masses. The Chief Guest Sh. Magotra, said the campaign aims to spread awareness about the dangers of tobacco and its negative impact on health, as well as the exploitation of the nicotine industry that is geared towards the youth in particular. It also aims to reduce the diseases and deaths caused by tobacco consumption and lauded the efforts of the organizers in making such awareness programmes colorful and effective. In addition to the above program the artist of BLSks also presented Pahari songs on “Savdhan Savdhan Corona Mahamari se bacha lo apne Pran”. The song were written by M.L.Dogra & music was assisted by Raju Bajgal, Music Instructor .The songs were recorded and upload on social media for general public. Welcome speech was given by Sh.M.L.Dogra, Chairman, Bhartiya Lok Sangeet Kala Sansthan who highlighted the event also appealed to the audience especially children to be the eyes and ears of the nation and pledged to put maximum efforts to make J&K State free from Menace of Drug addiction & also said Each year, the World Health Organization holds World No Tobacco Day on May 31. Their goal is to spread awareness about the risks of tobacco use and how we can make the world tobacco free. But this is by no means a guarantee. The Sustainable Development Agenda aims to reduce deaths from noninfectious diseases by a third. Diseases linked to tobacco are on the list, so if we hit the target, 2030 will be a year to celebrate not only for our health, but the size of our wallets. Imagine all of the other cool holidays you could enjoy with that money ,we have a few suggestions, just saying. So let’s use World No Tobacco week as a launching pad to a brighter and less smokey future. Sh.Anju Dogra in her address this week is for all smokers to commit to end smoking. Most smokers will need the strong support of their family and friends to succeed. And each smoker needs to determine what works best for them, knowing that for some, nicotine replacement therapies will work.The singers , musician ,actors and students of music and computer institute who participated in the musical concert were Raju Bajgal, Rajni Gupta, M.C.Kotwal ,K.K.Joshi, Chahat Chadha, and many others presented enthralled performances. At last of the programe Master Deepak Kumar presented vote of thanks for successful conduction of the program.
