Physical distancing refers to actions taken to stop or slow down the spread of a contagious disease. For an individual, it refers to maintaining enough distance (6 feet or more) between yourself and another person to avoid getting infected or infecting someone else. School closures, directives to work from home, library closings, and cancelling meetings and larger events help enforce physical distancing at a community level. Slowing down the rate and number of new corona virus infections is critical to reduce the risk that large numbers of critically ill patients cannot receive life-saving care. The Chief Guest also disclosed the concerned agencies at Govt. level must come forward with such organizations to curb this menace in J&K -UT which is quite alarming as per newspapers reports appearing frequently now- a- days. In addition to the above program the artist of BLSKS also presented songs on “Savdhan Savdhan Corona Mahamari se bacha lo apne Pran”. The song were written by M.L.Dogra. Welcome speech was given by Sh.M.L.Dogra, Chairman, Bhartiya Lok Sangeet Kala Sansthan who highlighted the event Clean your hands often. Use soap and water, or an alcohol-based hand rub. Maintain a safe distance from anyone who is coughing or sneezing. Wear a mask when physical distancing is not possible. Don’t touch your eyes, nose or mouth. Cover your nose and mouth with your bent elbow or a tissue when you cough or sneeze. Stay home if you feel unwell. If you have a fever, cough and difficulty breathing, seek medical attention. Sh. J.K.Raina said masks can help prevent the spread of the virus from the person wearing the mask to others. Masks alone do not protect against COVID-19, and should be combined with physical distancing and hand hygiene. The corona virus spreads mainly from person to person. This can happen between people who are in close contact with one another. Droplets that are produced when an infected person coughs or sneezes may land in the mouths or noses of people who are nearby, or possibly be inhaled into their lungs. A person infected with corona virus – even one with no symptoms – may emit aerosols when they talk or breathe. Aerosols are infectious viral particles that can float or drift around in the air for up to three hours. Another person can breathe in these aerosols and become infected with the corona virus. This is why everyone should wear a mask when they go out in public.
