To observed the World Cancer Day & to promote the traditional culture of J&K , Bhartiya Lok Sangeet Kala Sansthan presented 46th Friday Musical Series Concert “Cancer Kola Bacho ” on the theme “I Am and I Will” in close coordination with Sangam Tru Art Production during Quarantine Time at Open air theater , Durga Bhawan Janipur, Jammu. The Program was inaugurated by the Chief Guest Sh.Ved Singh Thakur, AEE , Designs, Inspections & Quality Control, Jammu, J&K Government. Among the Guest of Honors present were J.K.Raina, Freelancer Producer Director , Sh.V.K.Magotra, former Regional Director, Directorate of Field Publicity, Ministry of Information and Broadcasting, Government of India, Sh.J.K.Prihar , Former Music Instructor, Song and Drama Division, Dr. Naresh Sharma, Health Department J&K Government. Specially prepared on the theme , ” Bacho Bacho Cancer Kola Bacho”, “Nasha Nai Kario Munde Kureio”, ” Nai Pee Sharaban”, “Bari Kharab Chutki ” , “Wajan Mata nai Badyaoo Loko” , “Nahin Piyan Tobacco Balma” , Nukkad, Skits ,Songs and Dances were presented to aware the masses. The Chief Guest lauded the efforts of the organizers in making such awareness programmes colorful and also said world cancer day is celebrated to make aware the normal people about the risk factors and preventive measures of the cancer to get prevented or its early detection. This year is a reminder of the enduring power of cooperation and collective action. It is observed to raise awareness and reduce the stigma surrounding the disease that is the second leading cause of death globally.Take precautions to prevent &spread spread of viruses other infections. Welcome speech was given by Sh. M.L.Dogra, Chairman, BLSKS who highlighted the event i.e. World Cancer Day is celebrated every year on 4th of February all over the world to commemorate all the efforts done by the WHO, United Nations, governmental and nongovernmental health organizations towards making the strategy to fight against cancer as well as distributing the real message about this epidemic disease and its treatments including its precautionary measures, “Don’t Smoke, Don’t use Tabaco” by uniting all the people a day on global basis. It represents an empowering call-to-action urging personal commitment, and also represents the power of action taken now to have a positive impact on the future. It focuses on together, all our actions matter. Sh.V.K.Magotra in her address stressed for extracting the maximum attention of the masses especially addicted population who suffered from the use of tobacco & tobacco products, alcohol and Liquor and other such habit forming agents i.e. Cocaine, Morphine, Heroin, etc. and was also highlighted the Masks can help prevent the spread of the virus from the person wearing the mask to others. Masks alone do not protect against COVID-19, and should be combined with physical distancing and hand hygiene. Follow the advice provided by your local health authority. If COVID-19 is spreading in your community, stay safe by taking some simple precautions, such as physical distancing, wearing a mask, keeping rooms well ventilated, avoiding crowds, cleaning your hands, and coughing into a bent elbow or tissue. The singers , musician ,actors and students of music and computer institute who participated in the musical concert were Usha Handoo, K.K.Joshi, M.C.Kotwal, Raju Bajgal, Rajni Gupta, Sanjeev Kumar Sodhi , Sudesh Pummy , , Tilak Raj, Mukesh Singh and many others presented enthralled performances.
