BLSKS presents cultural folk performances in R.S. Pura

Bhartiya Lok Sangeet Kala Sansthan in close coordination with J&K State Aids Control Society ,Department of Health and Medical Education, Govt. of Jammu & Kashmir presented “Aids Awareness” cultural folk performances at Border Villages Muralia & Kotli Arjan Singh, Block R.S. Pura , District Jammu. The program was inaugurated by the Chief Guests Sh.Shakti Kumar, Numbardar, Maralia, R.S.Pura and Sh.Sham Sher Singh, President Singh Sabha , Kotli Arjan Singh, R.S.Pura was Guest of Honour. The special guests were Rajnish Kumar, Ashok Kumar, Pankaj Verma, Sahil Raj, Harbajan Singh, Sukhdev Singh were present on the occasion. The programe was highly appreciated by the audience. The Chief Guest said HIV isn’t spread through casual contact the people, such as hugging, sharing cutlery or shaking hands etc. The virus is spread by means of direct contact with an infected person’s semen, vaginal fluid, blood or breast milk. HIV is most commonly spread through unprotected vaginal, anal and oral sex. It’s also often spread by people who inject drugs (and who use the same needles of infected person). The colorful cultural programs comprising of skits / dances / songs etc based on the theme Besides enriching the cultural heritage of the country and inspiring the younger generation to follow the foot prints of their elders in preserving the composite culture of the Nation. The items / songs were specially designed were Jano Jano Aids Rog Jano, Maha Mari Mado Ayi Corona Jad Cha Ase Mita deni, Jan Jan Mara Corona Rog Jaan, HIV Vishanu Hai, Savdhan Savdhan Ae Manav Jati Savdhan and short play ‘Nai Chetna’ written by Sh.M.L.Dogra (Chairman BLSKS) were presented. The music was assisted by Sh.Raju Bajgal, Music Instructor BLSKS. Welcoming the dignitaries M.L.Dogra , Chairman , BLSKS explained about the Idealls & the symptoms of the object of the program. The people living with HIV tend to be most infectious in the first few months after being infected, many are unaware of their status until the later stages. In the first few weeks after initial infection people may experience no symptoms or an influenza-like illness including fever, headache, rash or sore throat & also said Masks can help prevent the spread of the virus from the person wearing the mask to others. Masks alone do not protect against COVID-19, and should be combined with physical distancing and hand hygiene. To prevent the spread of COVID-19, Clean your hands often, Use soap and water, or an alcohol-based hand rub, Maintain a safe distance from anyone who is coughing or sneezing, Wear a mask when physical distancing is not possible, Don’t touch your eyes, nose or mouth, Stay home if you feel unwell. If you have a fever, cough and difficulty breathing, seek medical attention.Sh.Usha Handoo , Renowned Artist of J&K , said the Bhartiya Lok Sangeet Kala Sansthan presenting more than 200 awareness programs every year through folk media . The songs on the Covid-19/Aids Awareness were also presented and upload online on Social Media for benefit of the people. The singers, musician and actors who performed were Usha Handoo , Sh.M.C.Kotwal ,Rajni Gupta, Sant Das, Kamla Devi, Raju Bajgal, Gouri Lal, Sudesh Manhas, Sanjeev Sodhi and students ,teachers, youths & general public were presented. Sh.K.K.Joshi , Troupe Incharge, BLSKS presented vote of thanks for successful conduct of the program.
