Charak by the police and said that this was against all democratic norms and basic human rights of freedom of expressions. They further said that Sh. Charak is a prominent Dogra leader who always fought for the democratic rights of the people of the state and have been working for preservation of dogra identity, heritage and communal harmony among the people of this region. They demanded a proper enquiry and action against the concerned police personnel under law of the land.
The local leaders, present on the occasion, projected the problems that they are facing under persistent threat of cross border firing, while their bunkers have not yet been fully provided. The education of their children gets disturbed every now and then and they sought for separate package of recruitment for the youths of the border areas. Some villagers sought for early disbursement of the compensation for farm losses due to fire, damage due to cross border firings and erratic weather conditions.
As the de-silting of Ranbir canal and its distributaries has not been carried out properly. The govt. should ensure that the water reaches up to the tail end for the irrigation purpose. They also explained the problems being faced by farmers cultivating their land falling across the wire fence on the PoJK side.
