A Police Party of PS Ghagwal, during routine naka checking at NHW Tapyal, signaled to stop a Truck bearing Regd. No. JK02AG-8031 which was coming from Kathua side. On seeing the Police Party, the driver accelerated the vehicle and tried to escape from the spot. After a successful chase by the Police, the truck was intercepted near NHW Jatwal. During checking of the vehicle, 11 Bovines were found laden inside the vehicle which were being transported illegally without any permission. The accused driver namely Shahir Ali S/o Ghulam Ali Shah R/o Banihal, was arrested on spot and all the bovines animals were rescued. In this regard a case FIR No. 57/2018 U/S 188/RPC, 2/3 PCA Act, 177/184 MV Act has been registered at P/S Ghagwal and investigation started.
In an another bid of foiling bovine smuggling, a Police Party of PS Ghagwal after a successful chase, intercepted a truck bearing Regd. No.JK02AF/3911 at NHW Nonath which was coming from Kathua side. The driver of the vehicle managed to escape from the spot after taking advantage of darkness. During search of the vehicle, 10 bovines were rescued and vehicle was seized. In this regard a case FIR No.58/2018 U/S 188/RPC, 2/3 PCA Act, 177/184 MV Act has been registered at P/S Ghagwal and investigation started to nab the driver.
Both the bovine smuggling bids foiled by a Police team of PS Ghagwal headed by Inspr. Amit Andotra, SHO PS Ghagwal under the direct supervision of Sh. Deepak Digra, DySP Hqrs. and under the overall supervision of Sh. Raja Aadil Hamid, JKPS, I/C SP Samba.
