Brahman Sabha Channi himmat on Friday continues green cover plantation drive at different sectors of Channi Himmat to promote environmental resources. The event was inaugurated by Vedic Scholar Phool Krishan Shastri alongwith Sunil Sharma, Head of Channi Himmat Brahman Sabha, Yash Paul Sasan of General Category Peoples Forum and Jagdish Dogra Ex President Sanatan Dharam Sabha.
Speaking on the occasion, Sunil Sharma appealed to all the citizens residing in different sectors of Channi Himmat to come forward and actively participate in the drive launched by Brahman Sabha Channi Himmat.
Plants are the lifeline of people as they provide the needed resistance to neutralize pollution having crossed the admissible limits, especially in urban sectors, Besides, plantation of trees enhances the level of oxygen and provides fresh air which mitigates the impact of global warming, rain deficit and poor air quality. Sharma further appealed to the general public to come forward and plant atleast two trees to improve greenery for a pollution free atmosphere.
Stressing on protecting nature, Raman Sharma said, “Trees are also the natural habitants for birds and several other creatures like honey bees etc. It is the need of the hour to double our efforts to intensify the drive for tree plantation on a war footing to tackle increasing pollution.”
During the drive, a large number of saplings of different categories including ornamental, herbal, trees of spiritual importance etc were planted in different parks as well as in vacant areas of the Channi Himmat colony.
The plantation drive was attended by Swatantra Bakshi, R.K. Sharma, P.N. Koul, Inder Sharma, Parshotam Sharma, Sunil Sharma, Sanjeev Sharma, Diwakar khajuria Bakshish Kumar and others.
