The team of Brahmastra hasn’t given away anything about the story except that it’s a fantasy drama. However now, as reported by a daily, it is revealed that Ranbir Kapoor, who plays the lead in the film, will be seen in the role of a DJ. A report in Mid-Day suggests that the actor will play a young man who moves out of his house against his father’s wishes to discover his own path in life. As revealed by a source to the daily, the film has Ranbir’s character designed as someone who is unaware of his superpowers until he starts exploring his life on his own terms.
The actor is a DJ in the film. However, when he sets on a new journey, he discovers that he has the powers to release fire from his palms. The report quotes a source close to the development saying, “Ranbir plays a DJ who walks out of his house against his father’s wishes. The story then traces his journey as he tries to fulfil his dreams and discovers his superpowers in the process.” For his role in the film, Ranbir has undergone strict martial arts training. In fact, he has trained himself in traditional Indian martial arts techniques like Kalaripayattu and Varma Kalai.
Earlier, whenever Ranbir was asked to describe Brahmastra, all he revealed was it’s a ‘modern-day fairy tale.’ Now, with the new revelations, Brahmastra can be expected to unleash more than just magic on-screen. It seems that the film is also a youth drama and talks about clashes between parents and youngsters.
Apart from Ranbir, Brahmastra also features Alia Bhatt, Amitabh Bachchan and Mouni Roy in important roles. The film is a trilogy with its first part hitting the theatres on December 20 this year. It is directed by Ayan Mukerji and produced by Karan Johar‘s Dharma Productions.
