State-owned telecom operator BSNL has launched ‘Swadeshi Samriddhi’ SIM cards in partnership with Patanjali, established by Baba Ramdev. These SIM cards have been specially launched for employees of Patanjali as well as employees of associated organisations such Bharat Swabhiman Nyas, Patanjali Yog Samti, Mahila Prakostha, Yuva Bharat, Patanjali Kisan Seva. The Rs 144 plan comes with a validity of 30 days, the Rs 792 plan comes with a validity of 180 days and the Rs 1,584 plan comes with a validity of 365 days. For availing these plans, users need to visit the nearest CSC/ retails along with employee ID of Patanjali, membership fee documents, receipt of above organisation, Swadeshi Samriddhi card, etc. This partnership was announced earlier this week where Ramdev said that the government-owned BSNL is a ‘Swadeshi network’ and the motive of both Patanjali and BSNL is “welfare of the country”. Talking about the company’s motive “prosperity for charity”, he further said that in addition to attractive data and call package, the card also comes with the medical and life insurance covers of Rs 2.5 lakh and Rs 5 lakh, respectively. Recently, BSNL introduced a new broadband plan at a price of Rs 1,199 that is valid across India. Called the BSNL RS 1199 BBG Combo ULD Family Plan, this plan includes 10Mbps broadband internet speed but with a monthly FUP limit of 30 GB. After the 30GB monthly FUP limit, subscribers will get a reduced a download speed of 2Mbps. Also, as part of this plan, users can club three BSNL prepaid connection to avail 1GB of data per day. As far as the mobile data offer is concerned, all the three BSNL SIM cards will get unlimited free voice calling (Local, STD and national roaming) along with 1GB of 3G mobile data per day.
