The Bharat-Tibet Sahyog Manch (BTSM) held a protest on Sunday, raising slogans against China. The demonstration, led by JKUT President Dr. Vivek Sharma, demanded the complete dismissal of Kailash Mansarovar and Tibet from Chinese control.
Addressing the gathering here today, Dr Sharma stated, “As civilians, we may not be able to fight at the border, but we can respond effectively by boycotting all Chinese products and encouraging others to do the same.” He urged all members of society to support the boycott of Chinese goods and choose local products instead.
“Along with seeking the complete freedom of Tibet and Kailash Mansarovar, another objective of this protest is to encourage a boycott of Chinese goods in the market. While every citizen may not be able to go to war at the borders, it is our moral responsibility to embrace Swadeshi goods and demonstrate our patriotism. The India-China war took place in October, 1962, and what we learned from it was the importance of strengthening our country. China’s policies have always been based on extremism. Additionally, the sale of Chinese goods tends to increase significantly during festivals such as Diwali, Ganesh Chaturthi, and Holi. Therefore, it is crucial that we completely boycott Chinese products,” Dr. Sharma emphasized during the protest rally.
The protest aimed not only to promote the use of Swadeshi products but also to advocate for the boycott of Chinese goods.
“It would be our biggest mistake of life if even under such circumstances, we continue using Chinese products. Use of Chinese goods is equal to helping China become economically stronger,” said Rajinder Sadotra, General Secretary BTSM.
Other prominent leaders who were present and addressed the gathering included Dr. Vikrant Singh and Dr. Rajesh Sharma, Vice President of BTSM, Mr. Vishal Sharma, President Jammu District , Mr. Alok Mahajan, General Secretary Jammu District, Mr. Mukesh Sharma, Secretary JKUT, Dr. Nitan Sharma, President Jammu University Unit and others.
