VIJAYPUR, July, 01:
Apni Party Provincial President, Jammu, and Former Minister, S. Manjit Singh has said that the bureaucracy has failed to address issues of the common masses.
As per a press release, a monthly meeting of the Party workers was held at Vijaypur to review the functioning of the party cadre in the district and to discuss issues faced by the people in the district.
The Former Minister, S. Manjit Singh, who chaired the meeting, held a threadbare discussion with the party cadre and issued directions to improve the working of the party in the district and to enhance public outreach programs.
He also said that the party is committed to work for the welfare of the people irrespective of any kind of disparity.
“The people are worried about their day-to-day issues that often remain unaddressed, and the administration fails to resolve their issues. Hence, the public grievance redressal system seems to have collapsed completely in Jammu and Kashmir, especially in rural areas and towns,” he said.
He asked the party cadre to come forward and listen to the problems of the people and highlight them accordingly for early redressal. “The party is working day and night for the welfare of people, but the administration does not work in the interest of the people. The people are facing multiple problems, but it appears that the bureaucracy is not willing to resolve the issues,” he stated.
He said that during the heatwave in Jammu plains, the people faced unscheduled power cuts for more than 8 hours, and there was no accountability on the JPDCL and other officials who are deputed to ensure essential supply system.
“The canal water is not reaching at the tail – end villages along the border in Ramgarh, and other areas due to which the farmers are facing problems to irrigate their fields,” he added.
He said that “The flood control and irrigation department along with the civil administration should resolve the issue confronted by the farmers.”
He also demanded construction of a band at the flood prone areas close to the rivers and water bodies so that life and property can be saved in case of heavy rains.
He also demanded that the administration should streamline the drinking water and electricity supply system in the rural areas and Vijaypur town which has faced the worst kind of unscheduled power cuts.
He also referred to the road infrastructure in the rural areas that need attention of the authorities, but the demands of the people remain unheard for years.
He said that if the Apni Party forms the next Govt in Jammu and Kashmir, the development and improvement in infrastructural development would be on prime focus.

He also sought an end to the discrimination with the scheduled caste and scheduled tribe residential colonies and demanded that these areas should be provided basic amenities.
