Col (Retd.) Mahan Singh, Chairman DDC Kathua, today chaired a crucial meeting of BJP Pahari Zila (Basohli, Billawar, Bani) at the PWD Rest House, Billawar. The meeting, convened under the leadership of Gopal Krishan, Zila Adhyaksh, witnessed the active participation of Bipan Sharma, BJP Prabhari for Udhampur Parliamentary Constituency, and several senior party functionaries and Karyakartas from across the region.
The agenda of the meeting focused on both organizational strengthening and addressing pressing developmental and security-related concerns of the Billawar and Lohai Malhar areas.
During the interaction, Col Mahan Singh took detailed note of the issues raised by the workers, including immediate issuance of weapon licences to locals in view of the emerging security situation along the borders; slow progress of work on CHC Billawar project and delay in execution of key road projects, severely impacting connectivity and daily life.
Col Mahan Singh urged party workers to promote team spirit, enhance social networking, and stay connected with the grassroots to further strengthen the BJP’s organizational structure in the region.
“We must stay united, vigilant, and proactive. The party’s strength lies in its people, and it is our responsibility to work hand-in-hand with citizens, listen to their concerns, and ensure timely solutions,” he said.
Expressing pride in the Indian Armed Forces, Col Mahan Singh applauded the precision strike on terrorist camps in PoK and Pakistan under Operation Sindoor, launched in response to the Pahalgam terror attack that claimed 26 innocent lives.
“This is a moment of resolve for the nation. I urge all residents to stay alert, remain calm, and extend full support to the Government and our Security Forces,” he added.
The DDC Chairman assured that all genuine issues raised during the meeting will be taken up with relevant departments for time-bound resolution.
Among those present were Romy Khajuria, DDC Members Bikaram Singh and Tajinder Singh Goldy, Rajinder Jaswal, Sanjeet Singh, and many senior BJP leaders and local representatives.
