Hours before jumping off her house in Delhi, 39-year-old air hostess Anissia Batra frantically messaged her family and also a woman friend seeking help before deciding to end her life.
According to WhatApp chats accessed by Delhi police, Anissia messaged her friend two hours before jumping to death on July 13, where she said she had been locked up inside a room by her husband Mayank Singhvi.
“He (Mayank) has locked me inside room. Please call police. Please come if you can. I am locked up…,” her messages read.A minute later, she sent another text, “finally I got my phone, I am at N 116… I need help.. he (Mayank) is sitting outside guarding my room…”
“I am going to kill myself today bcoz Mayank has driven me to it. He finally let me out but I can’t repair what he has done,” Anissia said in the last text to her friend.The message was sent 4.12 pm. Sometime later, Anissia Batra jumped from the terrace of their posh South Delhi house on Friday, her husband Mayank Singhvi claimed.
According to Mayank, he too, received a message from her in which she threatened to end her life.
“After she found out about his earlier relationship, she was quite hurt. It is suspected that they must have had arguments over it,” an officer said.
