Asserting that dialogue and reconciliation was the only way to ensure peace in Jammu and Kashmir, Member Legislative Council Firdous Tak said that it was imperative upon union government to respond to the sentiments and proposals of the Chief Minister Ms. Mehbooba Mufti.
“The problems in Jammu and Kashmir are not economical or social but purely political in nature and it was essential to address them accordingly. Guns have not solved any problem or issue in the world and only dialogue and reconciliation was the way forward”, he said.
Tak was addressing series of public meetings in Paddar area of this moutanious district. He visited Laie, Kejai, Afaani, Karthai and Jhar villages of the Sub Division and listened to the grievances of the masses. Several issues were addressed on the spot.
The legislator, who was accompanied by senior party functionaries including Ghulam Muhammad Butt, Thakur Sujan Singh, Girdhari Lal, Muhammad Ali, Baldev Singh, Goswaoon Ram and Nepal Singh, also announced several works to be executed under Constituency Development Fund.
The legislator said that it was for the first time that any government in Jammu and Kashmir has taken so much of historic measures on development, economic, administrative and social fronts in a short span of time. “The reforms in administration and fiscal management initiated by this government will have huge impact and will help in reforming the governance.
Tak highlighted several measures initiated by the present dispensation and said that special emphasis was being laid in addressing the development deficit of rural and far off areas. He said that the government was laying focous on improvement of road connectivity, communication, health and education infrastructure in the rural areas.
