CEO J&K ERA inspects sites of proposed ERA projects in Transport Sector

CEO J&K ERA Dr. Raghav Langer visited the sites of new sub-projects proposed under forth coming Asian Development Bank Loan-III.
The sites visited include ramp based multi-level car parking site opposite Maharaja Hari Singh Park and Multi-level Car Parking at Gole Market, Gandhi Nagar, proposed Grade Separator at Rehari Chowk and Satwari chowk, construction of Pedestrian Passage way from ISBT to Super Specialty Hospital.
Besides above the site of road sub projects were also visited which include proposed construction of 4 lane road from Bhagwati Nagar (Rotary) to Jammu by pass ring road at Bhagtpur, the proposed road from Nowabad Police Post to Bhagwati Nagar Chowk.
The officials of R&B Division II apprised CEO that the proposed road will help in decongestion of traffic from Jewel Chowk to Bhagwati Nagar and optimum utilisation of fourth bridge over river Tawi.
The CEO ERA emphasized for short listing all the issues regarding the land acquisitions NOCs from various department related with the new sub-projects for resolving the same with assistance of the administration and all concerned departments.
Later, CEO ERA inspected various urban transport projects completed by ERA under ADB Loan-II, JKUSDIP. Visit was made to Bikram Chowk fly over completed at the cost of Rs 81.39 crores and put to public use in May 2017.
Dr Langer also visited the underpass near Kala Kendra and instructed the ERA engineers to put the requisite signage on both sides of underpass near entry points for the knowledge/convenience of general public.
Semi-Automatic Multi Level Car Parking Facility at Super Bazaar, Jammu built at the cost of Rs. 46.51 crores and commissioned in August 2017 was also inspected. CEO was accompanied by the Senior Engineers of ERA, JDA and M/S CCCL (Contractor of the project). Director ERA Jammu apprised CEO that the parking has a total capacity of 352 cars and 164 two wheelers. CEO ERA instructed the staff to coordinate with the local authorities for the optimum utilization of the parking facility and for resolving the issues of second entry as well as exit with the intervention of District Administration & all stake holders.
Directions were issued to JDA staff for putting more wall painting works for beautification of car parking site and displaying the messages under Swachh Bharat Mission in the available wall spaces with the involvement of students and local artists. CEO inspected various other structures such as Control room, Pump room and Safety Installations of parking.
The status of revenue collection and billings process of the semi-automatic car parking was also discussed. CEO checked the old logs of automated system and instructed JDA officials to stop using manual transactions. In addition, he instructed JDA officials and the staff of CCCL (O&M and contractors of the project) to make optimum use of the automated system and customize the software according to the requirement.
Director ERA Jammu Abdul Majid Shabnam, Project Manager Transport Jammu Rajesh Gandotra, DPM, APM, JE, Social Expert, Environmental Expert and other officers of ERA accompanied Chief Executive Officer.
